Solo Disney Dream 5 Night Spain 2024 La Coruna and Vigo From Southampton COMPLETED

I'm enjoying your report! One of my thoughts for a future trip for my family would be a couple weeks in England (coming from east coast of USA and never having been to the UK before), but take "vacation from vacation" by doing the cruise to Spain in the middle.

You are welcome. Thats a great idea, as long as you manage expectations if you go on Disney in August from UK. :) I met a few Americans on the cruise, yes they were there, :) One couple I met at the Martini tasting were retired Americans doing a 3 in a row, the 5 night Spain, then the 7 night Western Europe, then the British Isles.

Any UK advice you need let me know, I lived in London and Edinburgh and as I mentioned my sister lives there, so I know the country very well.

I am in awe at how many steps you are walking each day. I'm tired just looking at it. But it also looks like you are having a fabulous trip. The research you did and the approach you are taking on port calls is so smart!

Thank you for the great trip report! Very helpful. We are Canadians going to the UK for the first time, sailing Aug 5. Thanks for the heads up about behaviour of certain cruise passengers.

You are welcome :) Oh wow, you are doing the exact same cruise as I did. If you join cruise groups before the cruise , even you are are not active and just read, you will have a good idea of the % of UK people on the cruise. As long as you are aware of what the onboard atmosphere could be like, you can manage your expectations.

Feel free to PM me when you start planning the ports and your pre and post cruise time in The UK. Theres lots of specific port info I didnt put into the trip report :)

Thanks for writing this TR! We are going to Europe next summer and doing the Barcelona to Southampton repositioning cruise. It will be our 7th Disney cruise but first time in Europe and we do have both Vigo and La Coruna on our itinerary.

The pre trip research is half the fun for for me so I've been doing a lot reading and having a first hand report like yours is great! Glad to hear you found the ports as walkable as I was expecting, but good to know about the possibility of a different berth in La Coruna.

Also nice to know the cruise culture for lack of a better term might be a bit different with the mix of nationalities. We love learning about new cultures and meeting new people but it is good to manage your expectations that not everyone will look at a Disney cruise the same way. I appreciate your advice, always good to do your research and learn a bit about local customs and the language.

You are welcome :) It was the 2024 repositioning cruise that I based my walking tours on. I was following the ship on ship mapper and saw where the ship was in La Coruna. So that was a bit unexpected when we went to a different location.

Thats one of the reasons I write these trip reports, as the cruise culture onboard does change depending on the nationality of the passengers. Thats something new for Disney, as traditionally before 2020, it was mainly Americans in Europe on the the ships. As a result, people like yourselves, who have done multiple cruises with Disney in America are not expecting the different crowd patterns and passenger behaviours.

La Coruna and Vigo are beautiful old cities, have fun planning your cruise :)
