I have my first solo, leaving Dh and the kids behind, Mom needs a break trip coming up at the end of August. I did get Free Dining and made my ADRs without any problem (easy when you are just one!).

But I don't know about them. What are your thoughts, keeping in mind I'm alone.

Mama Melrose---I plan to be at DHS so I chose this. I have never been there and reviews are sketchy. I was just at Sci Fi last trip and don't really want to eat there alone. I would do Prime Time if I could eat at the bar, does anyone know if you can do that? Or should I just keep this one? How is the food?

San Angel Inn--this is the one most undecided on. I wanted Nine Dragons but it will be closed. I'll be in Epcot this night. Not really into Japan or Germany and eating with strangers. Did Coral Reef and Le Cellier both the last 2 trips so while I love them this trip is about trying new things and things my family isn't into. I love Mexican food and have eaten at San Angel years ago. But it is so dark, is it too romantic and close together tables to be alone? I like the idea of Rose and Crown but the menu doesn't thrill me. What about Marrakesh? Should I go out on a limb, my family would never want to eat there. Is it good?

Kona--I want to keep this one for sure. I've always wanted to try it and think it will be just fine by myself!

Thanks for any tips!

I think a solo trip sounds fun. Maybe someday . . .

I think San Angel Inn will be good solo choice, and I always like eating in a country in Epcot. I went there with the kids and the darkness means you don't even notice other tables, for us. The close tables did not bother us.

I don't know about Mama Melrose; I have never been. I think if I were alone, I might take the boat to Boardwalk, to see that area and go to Spoodles. I am not a big DHS fan though. I have not tried Spoodles or been to the Boardwalk area, which is something that appeals to me.

I think Kona is a great choice. Have a great time on your solo trip. :goodvibes

I think all of your choices are fine. The only places I really don't like eating at solo are buffets, because I don't like getting up constantly and leaving the table unoccupied, and I always feel I have to take my bag up to the buffet with me. That being said, I still eat at Boma and Crystal Palace every trip.

We just came home last night and I saw alot of solo diners.....Have you tried Biergarten in Germany.......you get to sit with alot of different strangers and it is alot of fun.....we had a single person next to us at Crystal Palace for a character buffet dinner and they do fine.......go and enjoy yourself
