Hi All:

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Will be down in Ft. Lauderdale for a company conference. Conference ends on morning of 2/11. Haven't been to Universal in a number of years and was thinking of doing a quick day and a half stay before returning home.

Thinking of staying on-site at Cabana Bay (able to get there by about 4:00 PM). I can't access park hours yet for 2/11/15, so I am not sure if I could visit one of the parks on this day. I would have a full day to explore on 2/12/15 though.

So my questions are:

Should I purchase the Express Pass to save time on lines, or should I be okay since I will be solo

Should I purchase a 1 day park to park ticket or a 2 day park to park (as I'm not sure how much time I will get in the parks entering at 4:00 PM on 2/11)

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Jean:)

Assuming you are looking at 2 nights, I would actually consider a Power Pass. Just yesterday APH rates opened for those dates.

2 day Park to Park $176
2 night Cabana bay $238 ($119 *2)
Total-----------------$414 Plus tax

versus

Power Pass $214
2 night APH Rate $158
Total---------------$372

That's a $42 savings. The difference between a 1 and 2 day is only $40. So even if you only ended up getting in 1 day you still break even.

As far as express passes go, I'd wait until you're there to decide. With Single rider lines you could make good enough time to not need them.

Jeremy:

Thank you so much for this useful information!

I was contemplating doing a quick trip to my first love, WDW, but would like to check out Universal (as I haven't been since the Harry Potter lands opened) for possible future side trips when in WDW with my nephews - your info has sealed the deal!

Thanks again,

Jean:wave2:

.

I am planning first trip to Universal before WDW time. Am going same days in February. What is a Power pass and what is APH? Thanks - I know WDW well but US is "another world" :rotfl2:
