Solo Christmas trip

I have not, though I've thought about it. The conclusion I came to was that, although it would be really beautiful all decorated for Christmas, it would also be very, very crowded, which would make me cranky. Probably not a good idea for me. Also, as a solo, I want to travel somewhere where I can forget about the fact that I don't have anyone to celebrate Christmas with, and being at Disney, surrounded by people who are there with their families, is probably not that place.

That's just me, though, and my preferences. I'm NOT suggesting one way or the other what anyone else should do. Different strokes for different folks.

why i was thinking this is because i have wantedto go to disney at christmas for my whole life it's the only time of the year i haven't been there

Sadly, for me, I also have to agree with this. There are times when I'm at Disney when I actually feel depressed being alone, and Christmas is definitely the worst in that department. I've been a local for 3 years now, and still have never seen any of the holiday decorations or celebrations, for that very reason.

However, I say go for it! If you want to see it, the do it! There's nothing wierd or awkward about it. :)

Okay, last year I went on a VERY SHORT (4 days) solo trip, with a friend who was golfing all day and we had dinner ressies in the evening. I had fun taking pix and enjoying myself. Met a few Florida locals that I knew. However, it was not my favorite trip. I much prefer a trip with others. . .even if I don't yet know the others. Be patient. . .there are many DISers that travel in December and love having others hang with them. . .meeting others is what has made my solo trips enjoyable. Try it you will LOVE it. . .

the "holidays" don't really mean anything to be since I don't celebrate Christmas, however I am really looking forward to seeing all the decorations, being able to take my time in taking pictures, and the shopping.

For me, it's a perfect time for a solo trip. I hate being rushed, and I'm not going on this trip expecting to go on rides.

yup... but then it is really depends on ones comfort level.. just like some says ti can get depressing if you are used to having family/friends around the holidays... but eventually you develop friends who loes going to disney and voila you are not really doing solo.. more so semi solo... so far we have myself and Gmax for Dec. 13th to 18th.. if you are there that time... feel free to hang out with us :goodvibes :cool1: :thumbsup2

I went solo this past December - had lots of fun seeing the place decked out with holiday decorations and being able to do things at my own pace :)

Drat... that looks like the week of the AGU meeting in San Fran (large group of people from work go there)... although... if a lot of people are out of the office anyway, what's one more? :rolleyes1

Nope, I was at Epcot though. I was at DHS the previous Saturday night though, during ESPN Weekend. I was the crazy/lucky guy who rode ToT 4 times in a row within 45 minutes. Even better, I rode each of the 4 cars once, and (probably because I was solo) got to ride front row on three of them!! :yay:
