Solo: BWPPI or Del Sol?

I am traveling solo, and have multiple reservations - BWPPI, and Del Sol. The prices are about the same; I've stayed at BWPPI, and liked it okay, it was super convenient, breakfast was so-so, and it was really convenient (okay, that was the main draw). I've not stayed at Del Sol, and haven't heard many reviews, but it looks like it might be quieter, albeit a longer walk. The other difference is the type of room- one king bed at BWPPI, and two queens at Del Sol, and the price is very similar (I think with tax and fees, Del Sol ends up being $20 more total for the stay). I will probably stay at BWPPI as I know it, but would like to see if anyone has any comments about Del Sol - and if for either one, if you have specific room suggestions that are quiet (last time I was right by the stairs .... not quiet).

For a solo trip, have you looked at the Candy Cane Inn premium rooms? Amenities, breakfast delivered to your room, plus all the standard benefits, like the private shuttle. Otherwise, I also would go with the BWPPI.

The least expensive room at Candy Cane is about 1 1/2 the cost of the rooms I've booked (even with the AAA $10 night discount), but thanks for the suggestion . It looks nice, and I can see why it would have a loyal following - and certainly breakfast delivered to your room would be awesome!

I am shocked the two are about the same price. To me, Del Sol is more economy-type staying than BWPPI. I've never stayed at BWPPI, but the way everyone talks about it it seems very nice. Del Sol was a cheap place to get 4 adults and 1 child in the same room for me. I don't know if I'll ever go back. The room was old. The breakfast was pretty standard continental, but with the cheapest options they could get. Only white bread, boxed donuts, only apples and oranges, etc. It wasn't a horrible experience there are just so many better options!

Thanks Epek, I appreciate the info; I was reading some of the more recent reviews of Del Sol, and it's a very mixed set of reviews.

I haven't stayed at BWPPI, but agree with the above poster that it is an economy motel. Infact if I'm super tight on my budget this is the place I go. With my standard budget (which still is much smaller than many people and totally negates staying in one of the Disney hotels) I go for some place more moderate. The last time I was there I stayed in a more roomy room that I could tell had been more recently renovated but it was directly above the lobby and it was noisy and they don't have an elevator so you have to take sleeping kids out of your stroller and carry them up to the room then come back for your stroller and lug it up the stairs. so it stays only in my tight budget catalog of choices. It's not horrible and it's clean and it's still really close to the main entrance so it's still on my list but it's definitely economy lodging.

What are your dates? Del Sol is right next to Desert Inn, kind of toward the back of their parking lot, so it's quite close, too.

Thanks Kindermouse, that seems the consensus about Del Sol - budget, but doable.

Avalon, I'm heading out the first week in November, Tuesday-Saturday (check out Saturday). I did check out the Desert Inn, which looks great next time I travel with the whole family!!

Based on feedback and suggestions, I'm going to go ahead and cancel the Del Sol reservation; keep the BWPPI, and follow along the boards in case a super rate comes up for another hotel the dates I plan to go.

Thanks!!!

Are you going for Dapper Days? I think it is the first weekend in November. The rates to stay on site are better than paying the regular high rates. You might give it a check to see if you can fit it in your budget. Dapper Days is amazing. Lots of very great looking people.

No, not intentionally, although I may will be there for a few hours on Saturday, and get to see some of the great outfits :-)
