Solo at the pool question

I will be going on a solo trip soon and will probably spend alot of time of the resort pool. Since I will be alone, I don't want to leave my room key at the lounge chair while I'm swimming. I have a secured pocket on my bathing suit and will probably put it there. Is it okay for the card to get wet? Will the water do any damage to the card, preventing me from getting back in the room?

since it works like a credit card - I don't think you will have a problem - but I don't know for sure.

DH swims with our room keys all the time - never had a problem (knock wood).
