Heading to the parks one day (April 8) and then to Celebration for the car show 4/9.

Dolphin is $296/night

Disney Springs stuff like B Resort or Fairfield is less than $180/night

All Star Sports is $188/night

I’ve only ever stayed at deluxe or off property. I love the bubble. I’ll rd AK and hit HS in the afternoon, with evening at MK and a quick jaunt into Epcot.

Any thoughts, suggestions, etc are most welcome.

It's a basic hotel with Disney/sports theming. But, it's Disney so you get the benefits of staying on-site. I say go for it, since it's for such a short time. You won't be in your hotel a ton anyway. I believe the rooms have all been furbished when it reopens (any day now).

I stayed at AS Sports once, and AS Movies several times before we started making POP the hotel we would go to year after year. This year, we are heading back to the AS Movies and brining our 2 year old grandson. I wouldn't hesitate to go back to AS Sports at all!

Have you looked at the new hotels at Flamingo Creek? You don’t have to pay for parking and can get free breakfast. Right off Western Way so it’s really easy to get to AK.

You are going to do all 4 parks in one day? Keep in mind the place is insanely packed right now and rides times have been fluctuating a lot. I couldn't imagine getting to do or see much of anything in the short window you will be at each park.

And since you like being in the "bubble" I would say you are going to have a better stay on the grounds vs not even if it's value resort. Just keep your expectations in line. =)

not sure why you would hate it, unless it's a personal preference for deluxe because deluxe it ain't. There's plenty of room for one person.

I might check and see if there are any major cheerleading or teen sports competitions at WWOS though.

I have stayed at all levels of resort, and for the trip you described, a value resort would be my choice. I stay value when I will be spending most of my time out of the room. The smaller room size is not really an issue for a solo person.

Although you might get a better rate off property, for such a short trip, and trying to hit all four parks in one day, you will want to have access to the early entry for resort guests. If you can find a non-Disney hotel that offers the access at a lower rate than AS Sports, it would be worth considering.

I walk real fast, inhale Joffreys, and get a nice energy boost from a fuzzy tauntaun in the afternoon. Four parks hardly seems enough 😉

I’m not 100% certain but I think the Bus Resorts quality of service is really going to be something to consider.
. I think they “share” with the other values and it can mean overcrowding and really miserable later at night. I think PoP Century does not share and I believe that results in a big difference.
Is there any hope for finding an acceptable rate at POP for your stay?

Also want to thank you for mentioning the Celebration Exotic Car Show Weekend benefitting the Make A Wish Foundation.
I just might have to check it out…Hope they sell t-shirts !
That private event at Universal CityWalk would be cool but $$$ to attend.
And the Daytona Event $$$$…

I mean it's your trip and I am happy for you! Just remember it's not just the insane waits inside the parks. But also the transportation between them. And since you are hopping 4 times you are going to lose a few hours to that alone. I just feel a bit anxious for you... lol

You will be surprised at how nice your newly refurbished All Star Sports room is! Sleek, clean, modern....smallish, but perfect for one person.
As far as your park hopping itinerary goes, if MK is open later than Epcot, you might want to switch and put MK last. This also works better for another reason... HS is closer to Epcot, so hopping from HS to Epcot is quicker.
Edited:
*I need to make a correction to my reply. All star Sports opened today and the rooms are not refurbished like Music and Movies have been. Switch to one of those All Stars to get the type of room I had described above.

I stayed once at an All Stars (Music) and would never ever stay in an All Stars again. The walls are paper-thin. If this isn't a problem for you, then go ahead.

As an aside, you do realize that you can't hop until 2 pm, right?

Not sure if there was sarcasm intended or not, but have you seen the reports that All Star Sports was NOT actually refurbished?

It's hard to go wrong with any property in the Disney bubble. It really comes down to how much time you are going to spend in the room and from the sound of it, that won't be an issue for you. All star all the way!

When I take a solo trip I spend almost all of my time at the actual resort and visit the parks for an hour or two in the evening to stretch my legs and enjoy the magic.

I stayed at Music for my first solo at 47. It was great. It unfortunate though as you will get some looks from people as a solo older guy. But I had a blast. rode a bunch of rides with some great people. Ate where I wanted and opened and closed each park.
Plus to 50 Prime time for lunch where they doted on me since I was alone.

I took Lyft everywhere as I hate the buses...it was like limo service.

No, I did not hear that. I thought it was going to be refurbished before reopening like music recently was. I just stayed at music and the room was as I described above. That’s news to me that Sports didn’t get the same treatment. That’s too bad.
