I wanted to do the Happiest Haunts tour but when I called nearly a month out they were already booked solid. Has anyone ever had any success snagging a spot in a previously sold out tour at the tour office the morning of? Not even necessarily that particular tour, I'm just trying to work up a bit of hope that it may be possible!

Ahead of time there usually isn't much hope of an opening.
You might have better luck showing up at the check-in time for the tour you are interested in.
If there is a "No Show" for the tour then you might be able to get in.
Ask at the tour center to see if this is an option.

When we were there for a tour they waited and when the people didn't show up we began the tour.

We really liked the Happy Haunts tour better than Walk in Walt's Footsteps.

The last time we did a tour, 6 people didn't show up. So I know that there can be spots at the last minute. Definitely ask at the check-in desk. It can't hurt to try.

I don't think there's a refund policy for canceling the tours so you may not even know if someone does cancel or not. I think most people just don't show up instead of calling to cancel if they can't make it. So it's a good idea to check in at the tour gazebo a few minutes before the tour starts.

Side note: I was told there wasn't any refund available when I booked my tour but that was only 2 days prior to my tour date.

When I booked at the 30 day mark, the CM making the reservation was VERY clear there are NO REFUNDS.
I'm sure this is why people do not call to say their not going to make it for the tour.

I tried showing up the day of a tour and asking about last minute no show spots and was told they do not have a waiting list for those spots, nor is it policy to allow others to take the no show spots, because they were sold to someone else. I assume that meant if a party was a bit late for the tour, they might be taken to catch up with the rest of the group. The CM also said it is very, very rare for people not to show up for tours, especially the holiday tours. That doesn't mean that the CMs don't have the ability to let you have a no show's spot, but don't count on it.

FYI: When I finally was able to make a tour reservation (after several attempts) I was told the tours for Halloween had been selling out within 30 minutes of the office's opening, so keep that in mind for Christmas.

I have to admit I feel pretty damn lucky to have gotten our tour spots then. I had totally forgotten the tours would be available and booked ours a few days out , on a weekend no less.
I definitely will not be taking chances with the holiday tour and thankfully since we are there a week have some flexibility.

what time are the tours that are 30 days out available for reservation? when I booked happiest haunts I called around 7:55 and the person said the tours being released for booking that day wouldn't be available for 5 minutes. but I saw in another post someone said the tours get released at 7 am. Anyone know which is right?

I would like to know this as well.

I tried booking Happiest Haunts for Oct 30 at the thirty day mark. Unfortunately, the tour was already sold out when I finally got through at 7:24am. She also confirmed that the tour for Oct 31 would be available at 7am the next day.

I didn't end up booking the 31st, since we are already doing MHP and MSBB that night. But, I did call back and ask a different CM what time the tour reservations were made available. Just to double check. Once again, I was told 7am.

is the holiday tour and haunts tour people having issues booking 30 days in advance? I want to book walk with walt tour for nov 18 and really don't want to have to get up at 1am my time to call

Thanks! Guess I got lucky with the haunts tour. I'll be on the phone at 6:45 30 days out for the holiday tour.

That's probably the best way to do it. My mistake was not calling until about 7:02.
