Sold out Hallowishes Dessert Party

I just decided that I want to do the dessert party for myself, DH and DS5, but the party is sold out on the night we want to attend, which is the first party.

I have two questions. The first is when I first started searching I accidentally hit party of six instead of three, and there was availability, but when I switched back to party of three, there was no availability. Is this an error, or are there sometimes large tables and no smaller tables available?

The second question is, is there a chance there will be more availability closer to the party date?

We have been to the dessert parties about 4 times. We are a party of 2. We have had to book for a party of 3 & then cancel the extra person twice. Disney seems to play the game of limiting numbers for each sized party. Check again for a party of 4, see if it is available. You can make the extra person an infant & not pay anything. Or book the extra person & then call & reduce to only 3. Shouldn't matter at all if you book the infant as your 4th & then show with just 3. Especially now that they don't hold a specific table for you.

Call. There has been problems with online reservations since May 5th with booking the HalloWishes Dessert Party online.

Tried just about every day for 2 no availability.. Guess have to call..

The date I am looking at, 09/25, has availability for 6 people but not 2. I called and they said they couldn't do anything about that.

Put in two adults + four infants. Infants are free & you can always decide to "leave the babies at home."

It's ridiculous that they play these games with tables at a limited event.

We had to call and book 2 adults and pay for one child because they said they couldnt book for an infant. While on the phone she then refunded the child price back to my card

Couple days late on this, but I tried to book the 9/2 party for 3 and was only able to see availability for 8 online. I called first and the CM couldn't/wouldn't book it for me. I then booked for 8 online (with 5 infants so I wouldn't have to pay for the additional people), then called and successfully modified it down to 3 people.
