1. The alarm clock is the absolute worst anywhere - no volume control, no music. It is the tiniest little thing. In a beautiful room it is completely out of place. Bring your own. You have no choice but to wake to a loud, 'agghhh, agghhh, agghhh...' if you use theirs. Oh, and 3 taps of the snooze and your done. No chances after that, it shuts off.

2. Check your tv for your updated account information. You can easily see where you are with your charges.

3. To the right of the outside of your door (in the hallway) is a little set of 'codes' with your room #. You hit the 'do not disturb' or 'housekeeping' button from the inside, and a light goes on on the outside. Also, there is a doorbell. Once your kids discover it your doomed! Never been to a hotel with this before - thought it was kind of cool.

4. The refrigerator is a fairly good size. Be careful, if you set it too cold it will freeze things. You can fit a quart of milk in the door, and pop/juice that is smaller elsewhere. There is a very small ice tray at the very top. IMO, use the ice in the hall other than in drinks.

5. Bring your own soap and shampoo. Theirs is in dispensers. They would be too high for younger children to reach.

6. There is a safe. You use a credit card to open it. You aren't charged - it just uses that bar code as the code. It is ok for most anything small you have. Our laptop didn't even come close to fitting in it.

7. The laundry room was great. We only used the one in the new section. We were in a GREAT room! Looked straight out over the newly landscaped area. Turn one way, laundry room. Turn the other, elevators...right next to that, stairs to out in the courtyard. Next to that, parking garage. Anyway, laundry room had 10 washers and 10 dryers, vending machine for laundry detergent and such, vending for snacks, television, small sitting area with magazines, and a change machine. Wash was a $1 per load, dry was $.75. Everything was very clean and in good working order. One cycle did it on the dryers.

8. You will need your room key to access the front gate and the parking garage. Keep it handy.

9. There are four very large drawers in the dresser and one small drawer in the nightstand. We did unpack - we were in a standard room for 14 nights. There is a small table, 2 chairs, adequate lighting, ceiling fan. Bathroom is huge.

10. You can rent movies - by the day for like $12 and just a reg. pay per view for $10. They had some good titles. TV reception was good. There are video games - but we didn't use them at all, so can't comment.

11. buses to everywhere were on time and seemed to be used a lot by guests. We only used the bus to the Tran. and Ticket Ctr. which ran every 15 minutes. The others ran once an hour to Epcot, MGM, AK, DTD, TL, and BB. Also saw the Shady Shuttle running, but didn't use it. Nice walk to Poly, but not at 11pm after walking all day!

12. Pools say that they close at midnight - they don't. We were there til after 1 am with lots of other families a couple times. The hot tub says only til 11 - but it is also open til whenever. If you need to make frequent trips to the bathroom use the main/Mickey pool area and there is a bathroom as you walk into Evergreens - near the take out counter.

13. Buy your tickets mid day. There are a lot of people who need help knowing what to buy. You can wait awhile while couples go back and forth for tickets. There are two lines - two people working there.

14. They will store your luggage if you ask - they didn't offer when we got there at noon. They brought it right up when we got in our room at 3pm with one quick call to the bell desk.

hmmmm -
there is probably more. I'll think about it and update if I come up with anything!

One question- how late did the eating places stay open?

Yes they have a wake up call... that's what we used rather than the alarm clock. The drawback there is... it has no snooze ;)

We thought of using the wake up call - but figured that the sound of the phone ringing was just as intrusive as the alarm. Plus, no snooze! LOL! I guess we are just spoiled by having some music come on and not jolt us out of sleep. I like a good alarm clock - and have been lucky to have decent ones in hotels where we have stayed. This was like a Dollar Store version!
