SoG questions

I will be staying at SoG in 2 weeks and have a couple (okay, lots!) of questions.

First of all, what are my ticket options? Do we get a discount on tickets even if we are not military or a dependent of our sponsor? All Ears is reporting an adult 6 day hopper plus pass as $270 and an adult 6 day Stars and Stripes pass as $251, is this up to date?

Can we check in before our sponsor arrives? I thought I read on here we could as long as certain info was faxed prior to arrival. We are getting to WDW a couple of days before our sponsor and if we can check in earlier in the day I would love to do it. (We are at BC prior to SoG.)

If we can check in before our sponsor can we buy our tickets then? Do we need our sponsor to do that?

Thanks!

We had to show ID to purchase tickets. My guests (DH is military and I have ID) could purchase, but we had to be with them to show an ID. And they don't sell tickets prior to arrival. I don't know if they'll accept the fax like the front desk described below.

As for checking in, I called as was told that guests can check in before the sponsor only if:
--a fax is sent by the sponsor that
--must include copies of front and back of the sponsor's military ID
--write a brief note on the fax "authorizing my guest, John Doe, to check in prior to my arrival at the resort"
--address the fax to the Front Desk Manager
--FAX # (407) 824-3460

Good luck! And have a great time :)

Thanks for the reply! I will now have to decide what to do about tickets before we check in to SoG. We have several old tickets with days left, it looks like this will be a good time to use those.

My family and I will be staying at SOG in May 2005. We have paid the extra $10 a night for poolside rooms. I have heard the poolside rooms are in the old section. Does anyone know if this is true? Thank you!

I would use those the first few days, then buy a Stars & Stripes pass for the remainder of your trip. If you want a non-park day, take it before you buy your Stars & Stripes passes :)

HAve fun!

MikeL1515 Yes, the poolside rooms are in the old section. Very nice location ::yes::

Is that possible? We were led to believe that because S&S passes were LoS passes, they had to be purchased for the entire time we were in the parks.

I'll be at SOG in 7d10h20m, but who's counting
THeir website is now updated with their current ticket prices - the 6-day S&S is $279 (Disney up'd their prices - April I think)(shadesofgreen.org) I haven't found a better deal since SOG doesn't charge tax....I don't personally know anyone who has stayed recently (since re-opening) so I am going to let fate take over and take whatever they give me - I did read in a post that you have a pretty good view of MK fireworks from garage - so we will try that first night...Lil:smooth:

Hey Lil!

I'm planning on watching the fireworks, got a surprise trip planned, my first night, July 2nd from the garage. I'm traveling solo... I'll wear my dark green tigger shirt. Please say hello if you see me. (5'4", weigh too much, wear glasses and very short hair, :D )

I have done it several times, last time in December! They say it has to be purchased LOS, but it's not enforced. Besides, if you're there Sunday-Saturday, and go into the ticket office on Wednesday to buy tickets, they can't make you buy tickets for days that have already gone by!! You just get tickets for however many days you have left. And, they've alwasy allowed you to drop first and last days if those are just travel days.

So....first 2 (or however many you have left) days use leftover tickets, then take a non-park day if you want one, then buy S&S passes for the remainder of your trip.

Hope that helps!!
