SoG if room is ready, can you get in?

I thought I had read here, that if a room is ready at SoG, you can get right in. Someone told me today, that no, you can't ever get in until 3. Anyone had any experience with this? I'm actually staying at POR, but another is staying at SoG. Thanks.

I have stayed at SoG many times and if the room is ready you can get in, no matter what the time is.

Last August we had 2 rooms connecting. one room was ready and they let us have it (About 10am) Theother room wanst ready until after 3PM.

DD and I drove all night to get to WDW back in 1999, arriving at 7:30 AM. I checked in at SoG, just figuring I would drop our luggage and come back in the afternoon. I was truly surprised when they gave me the room key and said I could go right up!

Thanks. Our friends were there in January, and it was all new to them. They were told they couldn't get in their room, and no offer was made ot take luggage (and they didn't know to ask), so they thought that was how it always was. This trip they'll be wiser

It all depends on how full SOG has been. If they've been full up they have to clean the rooms after check out and they can't do them all at the same time, but if they're not totally booked, they'll have some rooms sitting there ready. You just won't know til you get there. We've always arrived after 3, but I've heard others have gotten in earlier like in the above posts. Also, I've read that SOG will hold your luggage if you arrive before your room is ready, just like every other resort hotel I've been to. Call them and ask.

Of the times I have been to SOG, my room has never been ready before 3pm. I probably would have paid extra to get in before then. Those long trips on the road made us feel like death warmed over.
