I use Photoshop 7. My boss bought it for me when I was designing websites. Alas this is probably the last version I will ever own unless I win the lottery

I am pretty sure everyone else except midnite uses photoimpact

when we all started out last summer and were one little thread - we found a great deal on photoimpact and just about everyone went and bought it

Midnite is a professional graphic designer and has the top of the line photoshop

Since I am one of the "awful" people who believe in Macintosh. I use "The Print Shop" for Mac. I have used both formats it seems like forever (my first programming class was in 1970 or1971 using punch cards) and like the Mac for better graphic manipulation.

Print Shop 20. I downloaded the free Photoimpact last year, but I couldn't figure out where to start. I need a little bit of direction to learn a new program.

I'm somewhat of a newbie to this board. I really want to try to do some of my own designs. Which software would you guys recommend. I would like the easiest to follow and understand and also I want to be able to download my pictures from my digital camera to this as well to put on CD's or DVD's. Can you do that with these softwares? :confused3 Don't mean to sound stupid but I want to be able to do both...learn to create designs using clipart plus manage my photos.

You can do both with Photoimpact -

This poll doesn't seem to show it - but most people do use photoimpact - in particular - a lot of people hang out in the DDA Trouble Zone thread and we bounce a lot of ideas off each other in there

Kate, I saw PhotoImpact 10 at SAMs the other day for $69 or $79. How's that price?

I started out using The Print Shop, but is has very limited capabilities. I purchased Photo Impact 10.0 and am very happy with all the features.

I found PhotoImpact 10 online before Christmas. I think it was software surplus, for under $30. It did not come with a manual though.

I got it for $40 at compusa when they had a rebate offer

you can download a free trial and use it for 30 days and watch to see if anyone runs any specials on it

I also use Photoshop Elements 4.0 .... I had trials for both Photoimpact and Photoshop and went with PSE, since it's close enough to Photoshop (which is AMAZING) for a novice but not hundreds of dollars! :thumbsup2

Ok, so would $69 or $79 be a good price for PhotoShop Elements 4.0? It was the other one, I just can't remember which one was which price. ;)
I hope to get PhotoShop CS2 at work, but that may be the end of the year. So, I'm thinking I should get PS Elements so I can start getting used to the Adobe lingo and such.

I'm using Microsoft PictureIt! .....at least for now.

ME TOO! But I've got a VERY old version. lol. I think it came with my pc in '99! I've gone through a few pc's before I started using that program. :rotfl2:

I am using Photoshop Elements 3.0 but I see so much about PhotoImpact. Do you all recomend one over the other? Should I get PhotoImpact to do things that I can not do in Photoshop? If so which version is best for the money.
Thanks for the help!
Molly
