I know WDW serves coca cola products only but I am just wondering if Dr. Pepper is available on site. I know that in various places Dr. Pepper can be a coke or pepsi product. It varies from town to town usually. I just can't remember if it's available at WDW either served at restaurants or by the bottle/can. It's my cure all for nausea so just wondering if I need to bring some with me or can I get it at a resort or at the parks? :confused3 Thanks.

No, Dr. Pepper is not available on site. It is not a Coke product, nor is it a Pepsi product.

Dr. Pepper merged with Seven-Up in 1986, and in 1995 that company was acquired by Cadbury Schweppes.

Thanks about the info on it not being in the park. That means I will definitely have to bring some from home. :sunny:

I knew about the Cadbury Schweppes thing. However, in smaller towns it is either distributed by the coke or pepsi bottling companies in those areas. I know this because in NC, where I'm from, in one county the bottles appear one way (pepsi's design) and in another county it's in another bottle (coke's design). I asked the distributor about it when I was a cashier at a gas station in NC and he explained that in one county, coke distributed it and in the other pepsi did.

Thanks again for your help! :)

Where in NC are you from Flamestar? I'm originally from Durham. :) And I think that WDW might serve Mr. Pibb instead--the restaurant I work for serves Coke products, and that's what we serve in place of Dr. Pepper. Although I don't drink either one, I think they taste the same.

I'm from the Kannapolis/Concord area and I lived in Wilmington for a few years. :cool1:

Mr. Pibb would definitely work. It's definitely a good Dr. Pepper replacement! Thanks for the info! :thumbsup2

No Mr. Pibb or Dr. Pepper at WDW. My DS19 was going through withdrawl until I drove off site to buy him a six-pack for the refridgerator.

NOooooo.... (okay drama over) you couldv'e stopped at the Hess gass stations ON property. They have DP there. :thumbsup2

We have to import DP when we visit =)

I'm in Texas, actually lived in Waco awhile, and ALL resturants have Dr Pepper - whether they sold Pepsi or Coke. It's strange traveling and it not being an option ;)

I go through my own Dr. Pepper withdrawls when we visit WDW. But hey! we're at Disney. We all seem to manage. No Dr. Pepper, and no Mr. Pibb (which will work for us).
On another note, where we live, DP is usually available at both "Coke" places as well as "Pepsi" places. But is not distributed by those companies.

Florida just isn't a big market for Dr. Pepper. When we went to visit friends in Tampa NONE of the restaurants serve it. And they offer Cherry Coke as the next closest choice! YUCK! I don't think those 2 have much in common AT ALL, but I guess if you have never had Dr. Pepper... :confused3

DH has lived his entire life in TX which is a HUGE Dr. Pepper market so that trip to FL was rough for him. Now he usually just drinks iced tea. ;)

Oh, yes...the Dr. Pepper dilemma. I asked if WDW carried it before I went 2 years ago. Now, the odd thing is that we went off-site to a Walgreen's and THEY said that they didn't carry Dr. Pepper, either. They had contracts with Coke and Pepsi and neither of them carried Dr. Pepper in Florida.

In Louisiana, Dr. Pepper is almost as popular as iced tea. Coca Cola provides it in their machines here; Pepsi doesn't. I know b/c we recently switched contracts from Pepsi to Coca Cola to get Dr. Peppers in the vending machine!

OKay...just my die hard Dr. Pepper opinion, but Mr Pibb does NOT taste the same. However, for some reason, that's what the fast food restauraunts around here have...actually it's Pibb Xtra...does that mean it has extra caffine? I really don't need that, but I guess I need to know the truth so I can stop drinking it if I have to!

no Mr Pibb just changed its name to Pibb Xtra...still same stuff. I love Diet Pibb...omgosh so much better than DDP!

I hate diet coke :( I'm a Diet Pepsi, Diet Pibb, Diet Barqs Root beer and fresca kina gal...a Diet Sunkist hits the spot too, but Diet Coke is toooo sweet and has funky after tastes! :(

I'll be drinking me some tea at WDW! (or margarita's lol) :drinking1

I totally agree that Mr. Pibb or Pibb Extra does not taste the same as Dr. Pepper. However, it's medicinal values are the same when I'm nauseous. I got through my pregnancy morning sickness on Dr. Pepper and Lance Captain's Wafers with Cream Cheese and Chives. Every since then those have been my nausea savers and they still work for me and others. :)

I only drink Dr. Pepper and the similar Mr. Pibb was at AKL the Mara only. I drank it there this December. It was fountain soda. I was very excited, but it is the only place I have found it. Even though it is offered at the Mara, it is not offered at Boma.

I have also had Mr. Pibb at the food court at POR in a can. I ditched my refill mug and bought cans instead.

I had no idea Dr Pepper was so popular in some areas of the country. I was a waitress at a TGI Fridays while in college and I think I could count on 1 hand the number of times anyone asked for a Dr Pepper. I have never even heard of Mr Pibb. What company makes it?

My kids really like Dr Pepper. I buy cases of soda for the kids and their friends when we have parties and they all seem to like it. I never knew about the stomach/nausea. I'll have to try it next time someone in our family has an upset stomach. :)
