we are considering getting the soda package for our kids, ages 15, 11 & 7 on our cruise. My husband and I can do without it, but to the kids getting the soda is a big treat on vacations and they enjoyed it on DCL.

My question is do the kids get the same refillable mugs as the adults would get? I ask because if they do the get the mugs I know I will use them a lot at home after vacation. If not I might just buy a mug for myself to bring home.

Thanks!

Yes the soda package includes a mug.
Each package recieves a mug.

Yes! The kids will receive the same mug for use onboard the ship! Depending on which ship you are booked on, some of them have the really fun new Freestyle machines. I recently used these on the Freedom of the Seas! We use our mug a lot at home too!

We just booked our first RCI cruise, so I have MANY questions. Can you book the soda package before you board? When I look at our reservation, it only shows water, juice, and the pricier packages available to reserve. Where is the basic soda one? Thanks everyone!

Now I am brand new to this, so maybe I'm wrong...but when I pull up my reservation and go to pre-cruise planning there is an option for non-alcoholic drink packages. After clicking on that I think the third one down is called Royal Refreshment package and that seems to be all soda :) Looks like you can purchase it there.

Maybe that is it. I was thrown because it says $42 per person... but that is the total over the 7 days! I thought that was per day. Makes sense now. Now it looks like it wants a credit card. Can't you just put it against your on-board account? We've got $500 in OBC, I was hoping to use that.

With RCCL for these things you pay when you reserve it. So just wait until you get there to buy it, if you want it on your OBC.

Is it that way with excursions too? Thanks for the help!

Yes it is. You pay when you reserve.

FYI, for the OP asking about the mugs, just be aware they are only meant for cold beverages - you can't microwave them or put hot drinks in them. I was hoping to use mine in the car for hot drinks, but it says all over them not to.

Thanks for the heads up :thumbsup2 I use my DCL mug all the time for hot drinks. Good to know ahead of time!
