Hi everyone!

We are going on our first Disney Cruise in about 4 weeks - 7 night Easter Caribbean. We are so excited! I have a few questions though for some that have been a Disney Cruise before.

1 - How much is the unlimited beverage (soda) mug for adults and children?

2 - How hard is it to get reservations at Palo?

3 - What is the best way to coordinate babysitting (Flounders Reef) with dinner reservations at Palo? Both must be made on the first day and we can't do one without the other (baby will be ~9months)

4 - Any special advice or "must do's"?

Thanks in advance for your advice!

I can answer one question

The soda program is $5.00 per person/per day so a 7 day cruise is $35.00. Adult or child. they will put a sticker on your key to the world card and you can get soda at any of the locations onboard. The mug is a seperate charge - but you really do not need the mug. I think it was $3 or $5 can't remember exactly.

I can't speak from experience, but I have heard that dinner at Palo's isn't too hard to get on the 7day cruise because there are more days for the same number of people (as the 3-4 days). I have also read somewhere that you should go to Palo's first to make your reservation. Then go to Flounders to get your times and make sure to mention to them that you have Palo reservations.

HTH!

thanks so much for both of your reply's ! I do appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions!

My wife and our 2 children just finished the 7 day Eastern Caribbean 05/03/03 sailing. The first thing we did when we got on the ship was:

OCEANEERS CLUB/LAB (FLOUNDERS NURSERY FOR KIDS UNDER 3)
1. Enlist both kids in the childrens programs and recieve the pagers. (alpha numeric pagers work on Castaway Cay and thouout the ship but don't get them wet.. $150. to replace them!)

PALO'S RESERVATIONS:
2. High tail it to Beat Street lounge to make Palo Reservations. By the way I would recomend Thursday night since that is a Formal night. We did it on Friday after Castaway Cay and we were tired and sun warn. Check and see what date is your formal night. They will take your Key to the world card and have the times available on display for each night. They will hand you a request time paper and you fill in your name, room number and time you would like to request. Then you sit in the lounge and wait until your name is called up to the Palo's reservation table. It took about 15-30 minutes to make the reservation(S). I found the proccess to be as efficient and fair as possible since Palo's is so popular.

SPA TREATMENTS:
3. We went up to the 10th Aft elevators to book our spa treatments. Cabana massages and the Sureal Room Baths go first SO... Forgo the spa tour until after you sign your name on the Clip board table located just outside of the spa entrance for the Castaway Cay Cabana Massage time of your choice. You will not be dissapointed you did this! Then go to the front desk and request the Sureal Bath/Mud experience with your spouse. It is GREAT! Then if you are not too hungry take the spa tour.

LUNCH:
Then meet your family in the Beach blanket buffet on deck 9 for a bight to eat. It worked out great for us this way.

LIFE BOAT DRILL at 4:30 PM:
By the way.... You will need to meet back at your room at 4:15 PM to retrieve your orange life vests for the Life boat DRILL. Look on your stateroom door for the location of the meeting place Letter (i.e. "E"). All meeting locations are on the Prominade deck. When you hear the drill be ready to go to your station. They will ask your name and Stateroom number and the whole thing should be over in 20 minutes. It was the most efficient and professional life boat drill we have ever been too and this is our 5 Cruise!

The Disney Magic Eastern was the best cruise we have ever been on for a Family of 4. I hope it is yours too.
