Soda and Fruit Juices Should be Banned

No fruit either? I vote no regarding a ban. It would be way too intrusive.

I wanna go back to the days when cereal manufacturers proudly shouted “SUGAR!!!” In their advertising and packaging. ;)

I never heard of this cereal but I want that Glow-in-the-Dark Chihuahua.

Despite the changes in packaging, almost all cereals, including plain corn flakes, have just as much sugar as they always did. They have to in order to be palatable.

So much for supermarkets not selling crap back then.

If we start banning ever thing,
we’re a few make the decisions for the masses
you will very quickly end up in a position like China or Russia
Very few, if any of us here, would be part of the elite “we” that make the decisions. Instead, we will all be part of the vast “they” that are expected to quietly bend under oppression and control.

The OP position was that they felt that soda and juice should be banned and were appealing to all of us to join there band wagon…. Make us the collective we….

however, the underlying point is, that is a very slippery slope that I for one am not will to walk on.

That's amazing and I am glad to know know that it existed. Thanks!

Also, I notice there are 5 different glow-in-the-dark chihuahua figurines - what a wondrous age to have been a kid!

EDIT: Actually, is that even real. That nutritional information makes me think it is a parody. If it's real, then it's absolutely amazing.

Yeah, I noticed that too. Never heard of the manufacturer and that goofy claim raised red flags, but the glow in the dark chihuahua won out.

More than a few times I cajoled my mother into buying me a cereal based on the free toy inside. About half of those times I never ate more than one bowl of the stuff.

Oh, the toy definitely factored into the cereal selection. I did like most of the kinds we bought though - I LOVE cereal. There were a few new ones that went uneaten, but we would try them.

I used to love getting C-3PO's because of the paper mask on the back - and you could see which one it was. I'd search every box for that Darth Vader mask, which was, of course, the hardest to find.

The Florida orange juice lobby might have something to say about all of this.

So just to be clear, oranges would still be allowed, just no orange juice?

Yeah, the chihuahua cereal is definitely fake. Bummer--love the glow-in-the-dark dog! Sadly, the other cereals really did exist with those names, back in the day. Funny, they'd always say "part of a good breakfast!" and then show them with a glass of milk, a glass of juice, maybe some toast...

The FDA will raid your home and take away your citrus juicers! No more freshly squeeze orange juice! No more margaritas or daquiaries!
Marty: "You DO know that I launder money for the Tropicana sugar cartel, right?"
Ruth: "You DO know that I don't need your muffler-fluffin' orange juice money, right?!

Does anyone else remember Jolt Cola - double the sugar, double the caffeine. Why stop at juice and soda why not sports drinks or monster type drinks etc.

I don't remember it being twice the sugar, Jim Beam & Jolt was always our Party starter drink.

There was a store in my graduate university town that offered a “Student Breakfast,” consisting of a Jolt Cola and a pack of Twinkies. That would drive the sugar banners crazy now!
🤮🤮🤮 I was never a Twinkie fan. But that much sugar and I would be either climbing on the ceiling or in a coma
