I was just going to start a thread about this myself. I just LOVED, LOVED this ride-and it sure felt like a ride!! Went on it for the first time today, SOLO. DD doesn't like rides or movies (she's kinda sensitive to noise) so dh hung out with her while I got to check it out!! IT WAS SOOOOO COOL!! (I'd love to do it again!!!)

It wasn't enough to feel like you were just flying throught the world, but the smells just made you feel like you were there!!

I TOTALLY recommend this ride...this is now my FAVORITE in all of WDW!!! and I HIGHLY recommend going with the FP!! Being a SOLO rider got me in even quicker!

This will seem like a strange question, but did you ever feel like you were going to fall? I don't deal well with heights and don't know if I could take the feeling of flying like that. I'd love to see it, but don't want to get in the middle of it and not be able to stand it.

I have read in a review that it at no time feels like you are going to fall out, and yet I want to hear it again since I too have this worry. I would feel much more secure if they had shoulder harnesses but I suspect that would just ruin the ride big time!! I think I'll have to do what I did with Tower of Terror, the first day I just couldn't ride it, just thinking about it almost caused a panic attack! Then, the next day, I thought, oh what ever! I did it with no problems, and it was a blast! Except I had to make sure and sit at the very back against the wall, made me feel more secure somehow :flower: .

I never felt like I was going to fall out of the ride but I did lift my feet up when we "got too close to the water". A CM who works at Soarin' told me that it's very amusing to watch the riders as they reach that point in the film because everyone has the same reaction and all the feet get raised just a bit.

Never did I feel like I was falling. I am also someone that has problems with motion sickness, simulators, heights, and certain movies (I had to leave during Open Water because I was beginning to feel sea-sick much to the delight of DBF) but I absolutely loved Soarin'. DD11 and I rode on all 3 different levels. If you have a heights problem I would try level 2 or 3 on your first time. Once you've tried it go for level 1. Soarin will get our family going to Epcot every trip. Get a fast pass then go to Living Seas for Talkin' with Crush. Its awesome. "Dude!"

Enjoy

I rode Soarin at DL last summer. When our vacation was over I was more sad about leaving Soarin then I was about leaving California. It is my favorite ride anywhere!! And I NEVER ever felt like I was falling!!
What a pleasant surprise when I returned from Cal and within days learned of Soarin being built at Epcot :bounce:

We rode it a lot in DL and twice last week. The last time we rode it there was this annoying person taking flash pictures of the movie all through the ride. :confused3 I'd love to see their face when their pictures are of a white movie screen.

We rode Soarin' in DL and it was a wonderful ride. I'm not a big fan of heights or simulation rides, but it is one not to be missed.
I do have to admit that at one point my 6 year old and I did have a very brief moment of a sensation of needing to really hold on (there are handles on the sides of the seats). My husband and 9 year old did not have that same feeling at all. I'm sorry I don't remember the exact part. My advice, if you are worried about feeling like you will fall, is to sit back in your seat and you can even put the seat belt through the middle strap (like they do for smaller kids) just to give you a little peace of mind.

It is a great attraction and I can't wait to try in at WDW.

I agree it is a totally awesome ride. And no you never feel like you are falling.

Soarin' is great blend of sights, sounds & smells! We rode it several times on our recent trip. We never felt like we would fall off/out, but as others have said, we did lift our feet over some scenes.

Rode it twice last week. It looks like you can almost put your feet in the water.

Can anyone tell me what the height restriction (if any) is on Soarin'?
Thanks in advance!!

I too have problems with motion sickness on rides like Mission Space, Body Wars, Star Tours, even some of the CircleVision movies in WS - no problems on regular coasters. Anyone else with motion sickness on these type of rides who found Soarin to be OK?

I'm pretty sure the height restriction is 40". My 4 year olds loved it! As did the rest of the family. This ride is a definite winner!

Grrr this would have really, really annoyed me! Especially if it were my first ride! How people can be so selfish and dumb is beyond me!!

Would also like to know. I also skip MIssion Space, Body Wars & Star Tours, but would like to try Soarin.

I only have slight problems on Soarin'. If you start to feel a littley queasy just close your eyes and it will pass.
