Does anyone know when the public opening for this ride is scheduled?

Thanks-
Donna

In the local paper yesterday it said May for the Happiest Celebration on Earth kickoff. It also said that soft openings would start around mid April.

Actually, my DH and DD rode Soarin' today. We were in Epcot (yes, in the pouring rain) leaving my three year olds favorite attraction--Figment. When we walked out, I noticed several CM's in unfamiliar costumes who were not there when we went in. They asked if we would like to preview Soarin' but three year old didn't meet height requirements, 40 inches. DH said it was one of the best rides he had ever been on, similar to a flight simulator only with smells as you traveled over different areas of California. They both loved it and are still talking about it now. DH says that he's sure there will be long lines when it opens but it will definitely be worth the wait.

I can not wait to try this ride!!! My husband has a fear of heights though and doesn't want to go on it. I'll just have to go without him.

I rode Soarin over California at DCA and unless your husband has a very extreme fear of heights I do not think this ride would be a problem. You are not really very high off the ground. It is just a very large movie screen that makes you think you are flying. I would say that the maximum height off the ground is perhaps 12-20 ft.

Don't go on alone he will really be missing out on a wonderful experience if he misses this ride. It was one of my favorite rides at DCA.

Maximum height off the ground is over 40 feet if you are in the front row. The ride is awesome. I wouldn't count on riding until the opening in May. There may be some soft openings but you never know.

The OFFICIAL opening is at a press event the evening of May 5.

I'm heading over this weekend for the AP holder's preview. I rode it last weekend during the CM preview. It's a great ride! :teeth:

I really want to try it, I'm considering buying Epcot tix because it sounds so cool but our trip is April 24- May 1st. Should I take the chance I can get on?
