Soarin’ Attraction Lands at Epcot :

The popular “Soarin’ Over California” attraction at Disney’s California Adventure will take Walt Disney World guests on an eye-filling journey when it opens at Epcot in 2005.

The new attraction sends guests on a sweeping flyover above the wondrous Golden State for a birds-eye view of the rich landscape and topography. “Soarin’ Over California” will be the newest addition to The Land pavilion at Epcot, complementing the popular pavilion’s agriculture and ecology theme.

The unforgettable experience combines cinematic artistry and state-of-the-art motion base technology. Guests are literally lifted 40 feet inside a giant projection screen dome and completely surrounded with the beauty and wonder of the state of California as their elevated theater seats take them on a scenic tour over the Golden Gate Bridge, the Redwood forests, Napa Valley, Yosemite and more. The free-flight experience intensifies as guests feel the sweeping winds and smell fragrant orange blossoms and pine trees around them.

The addition of this attraction will require some major changes to the Land Pavilion. The show building is being constructed now adjacent to the Land. Supposedly in Jan., 2004, Food Rocks will close down so that area can be remodeled to serve as the entrance/preshow area for the new Soarin' attraction. In addition, two elevators will be added to the pavilion, and the bathrooms expanded to handle the influx of people that will surely come.
We rode this attraction at California Adventure, and it was awesome! It's a shame they can't replace the film, and call it Soarin' Over the Land, or Soarin' Over America. Maybe someday!

Soarin' is amazing I am so glad they are bringing it to Epcot.

Caught it at DLR just a couple of weeks ago. It is everything that is right about a Disney attraction(except no ::MickeyMo ) We loved it and can't wait to do it at WDW:earsboy:

As a huge fan of Disney who's been disappointed with some of the decisions made of late - beginning with the closing of the Skyway, and including the "revamp" (or, as I call it, de-scarifying) of Alien Encounter - I'm really pleased to hear that Soarin' is coming to Epcot. When I attended the media-only grandopening of Disney's California Adventure (wow, do they know how to throw a party!) my friend Todd and I rode Soarin' at least 7 times in a row. It was one of the most amazing attractions I've ever been on. And truth be told, like many of the attractions at CA, I think it will be a much better fit at WDW. I never really understood the concept of buiding a park about California in the middle of...um, California! Especially seeing as, unlike WDW, the vast majority of visitors to Disneyland/DCA are from California. I suppose it's all part of the effort to make Disneyland a bigger draw to outsiders, figuring, "Hey, come here and let us teach you about California!" But frankly, I wasn't all that impressed with DCA. It's good to know, however, that they're bringing what I considered to be that park's best attraction to Epcot.

Tomorrow, i'll be at Disney... woo-hoo!
