According to Touring Plans, Soarin' is scheduled to reopen July 1, 2016. Sorry, but it looks like you guys will miss it.

Is that the starting date of your trip? You MAY luck out if they have soft openings and be able to catch a flight. Hope so!

Seriously, all Disney used to say was "Summer of 2016" and now not even that.

As part of our continuing efforts to exceed the expectations of our Guests, Soarin' is currently closed for refurbishment.

After the Rivers of Light debacle I think we won't hear a firm date from them until they are 1000% sure it's ready.

I'm hoping it opens shortly after Shanghai opens with the new movie which is mid-June.

I was there the last day it was open in early January. They were really noncommital then as to how long it'd be closed just saying that it'd be a "good while" until it reopens. Since many plan their trips 6 months and more ahead, it'd be nice if they give some kind of idea.

That's why Disney doesn't usually give specific dates, always leads to disappointment. Think ROL, Disneyland opening day, and DCA opening day.

I think you might get lucky! Search for the Major WDW Completion Dates thread and go to page 1. Rumor right now is that Soarin will open after Shanghai Disney opens around June 17th. There are even rumors it could open before that and just run the old version. Apparently they want the Shanghai to get the solo debut. Again these are just rumors, the ROL debacle proved that!

Does Disney really think that opening it in China first is really necessary?? What would the strategy be here? Our last day will be June 19 and I was really hoping Soarin would be open by then. It's not like I will see it in Florida then decide to not go to Shanghai because I've seen it already! I realize it will be there on the next trip but for those of us who can only get there every couple years, it's a bummer to have to wait for the next trip. If it's truly not ready, that's one thing but to hold off just to debut somewhere else seems silly!
