My friend was out in California and had dinner with a guy in the movie industry. He said that he worked with a team at Disney to explore two things with Soarin'
1) mixing things up a bit - not the same show every time
2) 3D

Oh yeah? Well my BROTHER had dinner with a Disney Exec involved with Epcot and he said that... LOL!!! ;)

Just jerkin your chain! I think this would be pretty cool if the first were to happen...not a big fan of 3D though....motion sickness gets me dizzy every time with 3D...:3dglasses

Thanks for posting! Hopefully this has some resemblance to something going on with Soarin'!

I like the idea of the experience being different each time, however I agree with jheigl that 3D might be a little much. The film is already more than engaging and I think an added element such as 3D would be distracting.

Very interesting, regardless.

Can you imagine someone dropping their 3d glasses from the top row. Haha, I don't see this being a feasible idea.

I was lucky enough to discover Sorin in California before it came to EPCOT.

It is always our FIRST STOP of each day (leaving in 12 days for DL) - just steps from our park entrance from the beautiful Grand Cali.

The lines are generally shorter in California than at EPCOT - even in the afternoons.....at least when we travel to DL.

Perhaps now that the lines are becoming shorter, they are looking at options to bring new life to Sorin. Certainly for EPCOT it should be a ride that lasts a long time....look at all the countries Sorin could discover over the years.

It's one of our favorites - and 3D - that would be awsome!!

I love the idea of mixing it up a bit too.

I always feel like I may tip out of the seat in some scenes...if it goes 3d, I just may finally go over! eeek!

If you've never seen a properly projected Omnimax (a.k.a. IMAX Dome) 3D film, I can tell you it is pretty wild - even when they used the old anaglyphic (red-cyan or red-green) glasses instead of the more typical polarized projections used now.
