We were in the World in February of this year, DD5 and DW. DD5 absolutely fell in love with Soarin at Epcot. We are planning a trip for Feb. of 2007 and something hit me like a ton of bricks. I know that Soarin is at Epcot as part of the Happiest Celebration on Earth. Will it be removed at the End of the Year along with the other Happiest Celebration on Earth components? If so, I need to start preparing now for a disapointed DD5...

I would find that highly unlikey due to the extreme popularity of that ride. I think they brought it in for the Happiest Celebration, but that doesn't mean that they are taking it out when the celebration is over.

I agree with firefly 72. Also the amount of money they spent to put it there also makes it's removal highly unlikely. Rumor has it that it may be updated or changed to Soarin over America..but alas that is just a rumor!

PS I LOVE LOVE LOVE Soarin!! It probably my favorite in all the parks!!

We also love Soarin. I have read in a few places that they are keeping the attraction, yet changing the movie/theme. That's why it's called "Soarin" and not "Soarin over Calif." like the one in Disneyland.

I don't know when it'll be closed for re-hab. I hope it's open in 07, because that's when we'll be there, too!

I heard from a cast member who works in the land that they are filming to make it into Soarin' over the world.

Thanks for the assurance...that would be a kick in the butt if they closed it for rehab when we there in February...glad to here that it is going to be there for a while.

I was just musing on this exact thing two weeks ago as I rode it for the first time - my thoughts were - there is no way in heck they are removing this thing from Epcot! First the building they constructed to house it - It's enormous! Second the immense popularity of it.

Really, they would be insane to take this away from Epcot, absolutely insane.

I fell in deep love with this ride! :thumbsup2

Phew. I was *really worried* (sarcasm) that Disney was going to make a large investment in Soarin and the LMA stunt show and shut them down after 18 months.

I bet THAT would please the stockholders, who actually own the company.

<end of sarcasm>

Any good rumors on when they are going to shut down Expedition Everest (oh, sorry, that hasn't opened yet).

Unlike some of the 50th celebration things, Soarin wasn't "borrowed" from DL. Unless I'm very much mistaken, the one in DL is still there. So the one in WDW stays.

My unofficial guesses about other 50th stuff:

Lucky the Dinosaur: only one of him. He'll probably go elsewhere.

Cinderellabration: it's a show, so who knows. Probably depends on the show's popularity.

Lights, Motors, Action Stunt Show: they built a whole stadium for it. Like Soarin, they invested so much money into it, there's no way it's temporary.

Cinderella Castle decorations: temporary. Amazingly, all my trips to WDW- including the one this summer- have been while the castle was decorated. I have yet to see the castle in it's "regular" form!

Magical Express: may be gone altoghether, may remain but with a price, or may remain & stay free. My guess is that it stays, but at a cost. Okay, that's more a hope than a cost: we were planning on getting a towncar/limo, but the free ME makes a towncar seem extravagant. If Disney starts charging for ME, we'll get a towncar next time.

I LOVE SOARIN'... One of our favorite. Didn't exactly enjoy Epcot but Soarin was the only thing we all remember. I would go back to Epcot just for Soarin. We are going to California Adventures on April and that's the ride we won't be missing. :lovestruc
