Soarin, Why Do Adults Love It So Much?!?!?!

This is my theory: ALL adults love Soarin. My DM, who will not go on ANYTHING thrilling what so ever, ranging from EE to Goofy's Barnstormer! But we dragged her on Soarin, and, of course, she loved it! Even though she hates hights and fast motions, she was perfectly fine! I also told her (afterwards of course), that she was about 30 feet in the air! Who else here LOVES Soarin, but can't go on anything else?

I love Soarin! I just wish it was longer. I've been on Splash once (hated it). I love BTMRR but never have been on Space Mtn, ToT, RnR, anything along those lines. Still deciding about EE when we go in December!

I'm an adult and I hate it......

BUT my DH loves it.... but I love waiting for him outside having popcorn and people watch

I am 27 I like it....but I don't like it if I have to wait more than 20min...because it is such a short ride that it is not worth it to stand in line for it. Hopefully they will up grade it.

I had to coax DW to ride Soaring, she has a fear of heights, and does not do too may rids,, I got her on Soaring and now she wants to ride it over and over,

I love Soarin becauese I wanted to be a Blue Angel when I was younger and I feel like I am flying when I ride it. It is my favorite ride. I wish it was longer! :cloud9:

I think the main reason I like it, is because it is my 5 minute visit home. I am from CA and I really enjoy seeing things that are all to familiar to me. Smelling the orange blossoms and the ocean. These are things that I grew up with. We used to go to DL every year. I went to Grad night there and still make a point of going when ever we are in CA.

Plus it is relaxing and thrilling at the same time.

I think its ok at best DW doesn't like it all and DS 7yrs does like it.

My mom. She can't take dropping motions, so roller coasters, ToT, and Splash Mountain are out. Because they make her sick to her stomach, she won't take her chances on any of the simulators, either. The only thing approaching a thrill ride that she will do is the tea cups. And Soarin'. She loves it. She does have a tendency to cling the person sitting next to her, and she closes her eyes at some points. She also prefers to sit in the second or third rows so she can see feet in front of her ( :confused3 ).

Yes Soarin' is neat, but where's the "thrill" in it. I like Soarin', don't get me wrong, but I would never compare it to a roller coaster. They take you up in the air and rock your chair around a little. In fact, if you have a tendancy to get motion sick like I do, just close your eyes and it's maybe at worst like sitting on a porch swing.
I rode it 7 months pregnant so I would definately not classify it as thrilling. Nice and cool, yes.

Its not a "thrill" ride, or a rollercoaster type ride. Its a different feeling completely, between the feeling of movement and the video. And the smells, if you notice them. I oved it when rode for first time last week. Kept lifting my feet so they wouldnt get wet!

My mom hated Soarin', she was terrified. I felt awful, I was so sure she would love it.

I'm 55 and absolutely LOVE Soarin' :thumbsup2

Now, I'm not afraid of rides. I go on almost anything except Mission Space. I ride RnR, Tower of Terror, Test Track, Space Mountain, The Hulk at Universal, The Mummy at Universal, etc.

I have to say that Soarin' is one of my favorite rides EVER!

I'm 56....and I ride all the thrill rides (except Mission In Space) at Disney...Soarin just give that "Awwwwww.....Oooooooh" feeling....It puts a smile on my face.. :sunny: :lovestruc :cloud9:

I would wait any amount of time to ride Soarin! My family loves it! If you are the last ride of the night, when you get back to the station, they ask if anyone wants to get off, if not they take you for another ride as " a tradition that they have"! It was really fun twice in a row.

My husband who is a rollercoaster lover thinks Soarin is way over rated. He did it once and doesn't care to do it again. I have bad motion sickness and cannot stand any kind of movement in front or to the sides of me and have never done it. I even have to shut my eyes in the tunnel at Buzz Lightyear.

My ex fiance and I went last year... he gets motion sickness really bad and couldn't handle any of the shows that make you feel like you're moving... or rides that spin or drop too fast but he couldn't get enough of soarin'.

I guess we're technically adults, although we don't feel like them. We love Soarin' because it's just sooo relaxing. It's so nice to just sit there and feel the breeze, and we love the music. Such a calming experience for us. :)

That made me think of Soarin' over different states, and the scenes/smells they would use. I had a nice laugh thinking about my state, and what the riders reaction would be...Gotta love Jersey!
