Soarin' SB+ test...Fail

I honestly believe they promoted Goofy to oversee Disney parks the last few years!:happytv:

Just saw a pic on twitter showing one side of the land pavilion roped off where you can't even get to the stairs to go down. It also says that CMs admit it isn't going well.

This isn't something new for this test and I've seen it many times on crowded days like in summertime. To help crowds flow through this overcrowded pavilion, they'll setup a temporary barrier just inside the entrance doors and another over by the Garden Grill between the stairs. Everyone coming into the pavilion is directed to the right such that the stairs/escalator closest to Living with the Land is for Down/Entering traffic only and the stairs/escalator closest to Soarin' is for up/exiting traffic only.

The simple fact is they should have never added Soarin' to the Land pavillion, or should add a separate ground level entrance/exit near Soarin'. The Land is just not large enough to accommodate the crowds.

Feeling sorry for the poor castmembers that have to man these lines and deal with the results of bad decisions made by higher ups. I wish they would put the big dogs on line duty for a while and then maybe they would come up with a better solution for all this mess.

The poor CMs is right. I encountered plenty who were frustrated with crappy FP software on the iPads at kiosks on our last trip. Hard to smile when the cards are stacked against you.

I think the queue was effectively closed anyway since no one gets on the end of a 2-3 hour Soarin' line.

It's just perception.

Yes, they do or else it wouldn't be a 2-3 hour Soarin' line. It is not perception, it is frickin' closed.

And I thought I was stressed about planning when I had just FP+ to worry about! My DH is gonna go through the roof.

I do believe this will be our last trip to WDW. It's just not worth it to have to plan every blessed minute, or pay $400 for tickets and just hope you'll be able to ride $OMETHING.

With all the drama surrounding fastpass lately, I kind of wish they would just get rid of it. You wait in line, the end. :confused3 But that'll never happen again.

Because demand is too high and supply too low for that model to work anymore.

It will be interesting to see if they will start posting SB+ return times on some sort of signage. With legacy FPs, at least people could see what the return time was.

You mean something like an app you can access from your smartphone while in the parks?....hmmmmmm

we are leaving for Gatlinburg, then up to Sandusky oh at cedar point

Have you been up there yet this year they made some awesome improvements over the winter...the new Gemini midway is really nice. I live a few hours away, CP is a great place to go. Have you ridden Gatekeeper yet?

What an absolutely horribly dumb idea. What is in the water down there?! I've never seen a string of Disney World missteps like we've seen in the past couple years.

I can sympothize with your dh. My family wanted to throw me in Bay Lake last Nov. after 3 days of running from appointment to appointment. We had a bunch of ADR's booked too. Things got a lot better after I started cancelling ADR's. Right now we are 120 days out and have exactly 1 ADR booked which I don't think we are going to keep. That was my promise, if we have to book rides no ADR's.

I predict they will have SB wait times way down on headliners at Disney Parks around the world eventually-along with the FP+ crowd for the rest. How many new attractions/parks come on line with minimal waits, and how they get there and the final product is the only unknown, sorry just IMO.

That said-just seems the old FP- arguments were usually complaints of not getting headliners over and over either from RD was going to become swamped and/or limited to one headliner FP+ per day. The "late sleepers" were constantly laughed at and called lazy snooze you loose/rs.

But why suddenly when it appears you could FP+ TT and just get a Soarin SB return (maybe even over and over), and also avoid 2 hour SB's were suddenly worried about the late arrivers getting shut out-esp when it sounds like they reopen SB later anyway so they are not shut out.

I don't really care and will never wait an hour (prob 40 minutes) for anything (still worried about a Gringotts attempt one day)-but it seems kinda odd to me. Usually folks are looking for any crack at repeat headliners without the 2 hour SB.

Been to gatlinburg many times, but first time at cedar point. Got 3 free tickets with my coke rewards, and bought the remaining during the christmas in july sale, therefore we are buying the fast lanes. This trip has been on my bucket list for along time, the coasters seem awesome...Cant wait!!

If you are only going for one day FL is the way to go. Famous Daves by the marina has some awesome BBQ, and Pink's on the main midway....mmmm Mulholland Dog :thumbsup2 Gatekeeper is a wing rider, you sit on the sides of the track, not over it....you'll be trying to pull your legs up under the seat with all the "near misses" with the support poles. Millenium first drop is 305'...you're going 96mph at the bottom of it and don't slow down much till you hit the brake run at the station...when you get to the top of the lift look out over Lake Erie to the right, on a clear day you can see Canada 20 miles away...just a warning, Mantis in not "guy" friendly  How many days will you be in the area, if you are there for a few pm me and I can tell you some places to check out.

:rotfl: I'm sure it is actually, but the pics look the least empty in there I have ever seen. Our family is bigger than that when we visit.

Maybe Seth should have gotten a 360 degree shot?
