Soarin' ride "vehicle"

For those of you who are wondering what the ride vehicle at Soarin' looks like, I snapped this picture today. There are three rows in each of the three sections and they rise off the floor to give the feeling of flying. The red arrows on the seat backs are the height measurement marker. If your child is under the arrow, you'll need to buckle the seat belt thru the white loop on the seat. Just thought you'd like to see the ride seats.

Thank you for the pictures. Although I have already ridden, I am sure everyone will find it helpfull. One thing I was confused about is why there is not a bar in front of you like there is in the commercial. It would seem a little safer and more like a hang-glider to have that bar. Does anyone know why there isn't one?

The locking seatbelt is probably safer than a bar that someone could slip under.

We rode Soarin' twice and it was awesome!!!! Very fun ride for all ages!

I'm glad you posted that! Before our first trip to Disneyland/DCA we watched the Disneyland planning video. It makes it look like you are in a true handglider type thing surrounded by scenery in front and behind your seat. That is misleading but it is still and awesome ride! We were glad the one at Epcot was exactly the same, they didn't need to change or improve a thing!

Kiger: I have heard it both ways as to whether or not you can do Soarin when you are pregnant. I think Disney always puts that disclaimer on most of their rides to avoid liablity. I cannot imagine why you couldn't its probably the tamest ride at Epcot except for Spaceship Earth! Also at DCA once when we were in line for Soarin a VERY pregnant woman was in line with us. The CM's kept telling her that delivering babies was not in their job description. As long as the seatbelt can go around you (which it should it's quite long) I would think you would be fine. I just checked the newest Birnbaums guide for Disneyland and it does not say you cannot ride if you are pregnant. It just says you have to be free of physical limitations.

Yes you can. I rode the DCA ersion when 7 months pregnant with no problems.

I don't think you'd have any problems. I saw a "large" family get in today w/o any issues. The seatbelts are very roomy since they pull out so far.

Thanks, Metro West. Didn't want to wait in line and then find out seat belt was too small. Amy & Dan -- I had checked out WDW at Large last night, but there is nothing listed for Soarin' except the name of the ride. I'm sure once it's been around a little longer, someone will update the info. on it.

Simba2: That makes sense that they wouldn't have it yet. I have ridden it so many times but only once at Epcot! Have a great trip, you will love Soarin!

Here's a tip: Ask to be seated on the first row...if possible. You may have to wait for the next flight but it's worth it. That's the best place to be on the first ride since you don't have to look at anyone's feet dangling in front of you. Also, hit Soarin' first thing and get a FP in case you want to ride it again.

Thank you soo much!!My dad is trying really hard to lose weight(80 lbs down)but will still be Pooh sized when we go.I did not want him to wait in line only to find he did not fit.Thanks again.

Can anyone tell me how long the ride lasts? Also, and I guess you do, but do you tip forward at all? Alot? When you do, does it last long or does the seat tip backwards again quickly? Also, does it have you zooming through canyons really fast, like say Star Tours? Ugh, I'm being a big baby I know, however I've never been on a ride where your feet dangle, so although I understand that the seatbelt is enough to hold me in I wish the handles where higher up somehow instead of down by the sides. Did anyone not even feel the need to hold on when they rode? The seatbelt looks nice and wide and if it fits really snuggly then I know I'll feel a whole lot better!

I know I'll be fine, it's just the early morning and I'm having a little panic is all .

Soarin is so awesome, especially if you get front row. They try to pull the rows in front of you up, but sometimes you still see toes hanging in front of you a bit. It's not bad though, the ride is still amazing in any seat!

Kristina, don't worry at all! The ride is very smooth, not at all like Star Tours. I'd say it lasts about 4-5 minutes, and you will just be amazed the whole time you are on it. Not only is it wonderful visually, but the smells are equally stimulating. You move but you don't zip around a lot so you don't need to really be "held in". Just try not to worry and go in expecting a great ride, you will be happy you gave it a chance! It has become my favorite ride in all of Disney!

Does Soarin' have a FP? Are they still doing the thing with FP's and MS and Test Track at the same time or close to each other? How long until SOarin' FP's are gone each day? Is the FP line unbearable like TT?
