Soarin Question...

Is this ride like the "Timekeeper" ride, where you feel almost dizzy and sick to your stomach as you fly around?, well, at least I did

I realize you are very high, but I am more afraid of getting that dizzy Imax feeling when you glide over water and your stomach gets that rollercoaster sensation, am I making sense

Just don't want to get off balance and be wrecked for the rest of the day.

I'm just like you - I avoid 360 screens because they make me feel soooo sick! I did do soarin' though and I thought that it was awesome! it is not an IMAX screen, you can see the edges (which really helps me). There were only a few moments when I needed to shut my eyes just to catch myself - so all in all, I enjoyed it thoroughly and would do it again!

You are making a lot of sense I do not like roller coasters or open air heights. We were just there last week and did Soarin'. My ds14 absolutely loved it. I was freaked and kept my eyes shut a good bit of it. I think it is an amazing attraction and great for anyone who is not a weenie like me. What I did see of it was breathtaking but not worth the queasy tummy I knew would result. I was not wrecked for the day but only because I did not watch the entire thing. It was very frustrating too because seated next to me were a 6 & 7 year old Oh well, like I said, I am a weenie!

I have a weak stomach myself and trusting everyone else who does, to still do the ride. Actually I am looking forward to it.

In general I can get a biz dizzy and sick in portions of the CircleVision films, particularly when they fly the cameras around and tip the, back and forth or make more pronounced turns, and get sick easily in all simulators, spinning rides and most coasters. There are two places in Soarin where this happens.
SPOILERS:
One more mild one at the beginning in Yosemite and one major one toward the end in San Diego Harbor. The one in Yosemite you could probable handle. The one at the end you can close your eyes when you see the Navy ships and count to 7 or so and then open them again. The rest of the movie is pretty tame. They keep the camera steady and don't make loads of turns. There is another right before the end flying through Ddowntown LA at night which is sped up and while doesn't make me dizzy is hard on the eyes! Don't miss the ending though!

we just got back and i am suffering from some very major naseau do to some chemo and cancer and i was able to ride soarin with no problems at all... I was worried since i am constantly feeling sick lately but I had no problems with it.. so go for it and enjoy!!!! make sure you get a fast pass though even with a Fast pass we had a 25 minute wait... cannot imagine those who were waiting in the standby line.....

We just did the Soarin' in DCA and it had the same effect on my that CircleVision did. Dizzy!!

It's strange the only things I can't ride are things that spin and the CircleVision stuff. No coaster or speeding, looping, hill-climbing, butt-dropping ride has ever made me the least little bit queasy. However, my Mom has to take a dramamine to go down the hill at Splash Mountain , but she LOVES Soarin' and I'm trying to decide if I will even give it another chance.

Just returned from WDW and we loved Soarin' !! It was great !!

If you are nervous about feeling queasy, take one Bonine tablet in the morning. I have motion sickness and I took one every morning before we went to the parks and I was able to do all the things that normally would make me queasy. Enjoyed all the circlevision films, soaring, bigthunder, splash, etc. No side effects, no drowsiness like with dramamine. We rode soarin 4 or 5 times while we were there. Even waited in line for it our last day because the fastpass time didn't work for us. We never do lines, but decided it was worth an hour wait to get to do it one more time.

I have another Soarin' question... I am highly claustrophobic; I can't ride things like Body Wars or Mission Space. Will I be able to ride Soarin?

Nothing closed in about it - you are seated in rows which raise up - but it is all in the open - just belted in. There is a shield that comes down from above, but it's more to block the people's feet dangling above you - not anything that creates a closed in feeling.

In this photo you see three of the nine benches that lift up into the air. They lift up and slightly forward into a large omnimax screen. It is not like being inside of a little simulator room and in fact feels like you have been set free.

Thanks so much! I assume there are no elevators to get to the ride or anything. I always have to go around the stretching room in the HM.
