Soarin or Test Track?

Now that we've learned Soarin will be open (old film) during our visit, I'm torn. I've been on both TT and Soarin recently, but DH and my kids, aged 6 and 9, haven't been on either.

Any thoughts on which would be worse for stand by? Which would be more tragic to potentially miss?

We are going on Memorial Day, 5/30. I currently have TT booked.

Just my opinion: if you're there for rope drop, do TT standby first and do a Soarin' FP for a little later when it is hotter out...

(For me, that big hill leading up to The Land pavilion isn't fun to sprint up with rope drop crowds... and you can spend more time in The Land out of the heat before and after the attraction.)

If you're not there at rope drop, TT may be better for a FP while the old movie is still showing at Soarin'.

I'm in the same situation as you. I have a TT FP on 5/27. I am leaning toward keeping that one, and chancing Soarin' in standby. My thought is since it's the old movie, and they have the third theater, I am hopeful that the line may move a little quicker than before. Also not sure of what additions may have been made to the standby queue.

We had to make this decision for our July trip a little differently. We have two epcot days. Originally we had Soarin' for one day and Test Track the other ... but now which to drop for Frozen (which in and of itself is not worthy of a tier 1 but that's another post!) so we decided to trade out Test Track since it will be more efficient to ge tto at opening and ride once, mayne even twice...plus I believe by the time we are there, the new Soarin' movie will be running so I am hoping between the new movie and the Newish ride, Test Tract will the the third choice for most.

But in general we have found it is easier, faster to to Test Track stand by first thing that Soarin.

I asked my 15 year old which one I should do the FP for and his opinion is that the Soarin queue is boaring so do the FP for it.

We usually FP Soarin and do TT either 1st thing or single rider.

I am in the exact same dilemma for May 28th. I ended up keeping our TT FP and am going to try to RD Soarin. The last few times I have tried to RD TT it seems to always be down right at rope drop for some reason. I figure if we have a FP for it, if it goes down during our window, we can come back and use the FP to ride it later in the day. It's my 15 year old cousin's first visit and they learned about test track in school. It is the one ride he has requested to ride, so not giving up the FP even though Soarin is my favorite ride ever!

We like to ride Test Track first thing and get a FP+ for Soarin about an hour or so after rope drop.

In between we'll hit up character spot or something else to kill some time. The Soarin queue is basically a long hallway, so the waiting is brutal. At least Test Track has the car design stations to pass some time. Test Track also has a single rider line if your group doesn't care about riding all together.

I'm unsure about this too. I had Test Track on 6/13 and new Soarin' on 6/17. I change TT to old Soarin' earlier today, then had second thoughts and changed it back to TT. We do use single rider on TT but DH wants at least one ride together. Think we will rope drop Soarin' and hope for quick lines with the extra theater.

We are also there 5/30. I never had a fp for TT. We were planning to rope drop it all along. We had a fp for Illuminations and swapped it for Soarin. We have 15 people going and all but 2 would rather do Soarin than TT if we had to choose.

Soarin I feel always has a longer wait than TT because you have to wait for each movie to finish. TT you also have the option to choose single rider. You will not be in the same row but you could possibly be in the same car. If single rider is an option it will save you a lot of time waiting

If you go at rope drop, you should be able to do the one without a fp+ first without much of a wait and then the other with your fp.
