Soarin okay for a 3 year old?

We took my 3 year old on Soarin' a couple of weeks ago and he loved it! Of course my 3 yr old likes Test Track too... it really depends on your child.

Has your child ever been to an Imax movie? If he/she has, let them know that the ride is a lot like that. It really is very relaxing and smooth. Nothing scary about it. (IMHO)

Do you happen to know what the height restriction is on it? I thought I read somewhere it was 42 inches. My DD is only 35 or so but I think she'd love it.

My three year old loved it as well, and test track too. She is right at the 40 inch mark and usually not that daring, but loved these two rides.

Thanks for the response to the height requirement. Guess DD2 is going to have to sit it out for now.

I think if the child is within about an inch of the height restriction, the CM might allow him/her. When I was there last week, I saw a little girl on her tip toes within about an inch short and the CM waived her through with some begging from the child.
If your child can make it throgh the height restriction, he should do OK. The ride is not scary. I have a 4 yr. old not so brave girl and she did fine. There is a slight jerk during the take-off but pretty stedy from them on.
Do bring a light jacket for the kiddos. There is a constant wind during the ride and if you've been out in the heat all day, it can get cold during the ride.

My 3 yo liked it, I had my hand on her lap to make her feel more secure and I felt her get a little tense a couple times. But she said it was great at the end. She is pretty brave about standard carnival rides but always hid her head for dark rides. She must not have considered this a dark ride because she watched the whole thing. We put her tennis shoes on instead of her sandals- that bit of sole was all she needed to hit 40"!

also the seat belts on this ride for the little ones have a loop thing that it goes thru between thier legs so they won't slide out like some strollers have on them if they don't reach the red arrows on the back of thier seat the belt has to go thru the loop to ride
