Soarin LIVE reports!

So glad we got a fast pass on May 21st our last day to get on Soarin!!!!!! It was worth rushing around to get to see it and then run back to hotel to catch the Magic Depress!!! Next trip we'll look forward to new film :D

I'm as excited as the next person for new Soarin', but I think if I saw that crowd, I'd take my hopper pass and get the heck out of Epcot for the day.

While I appreciate the fact that someone thought it would be cool to post video from the new ride, there is no way in heeeeeellllllllllllll I'm looking at it with 4 days left before we go on it!
Talk about the ultimate spoiler...sheesh ;-)

That's me too. I'll be down there with DW in 10 day and at EPCOT in 12. I'll wait to use my FP+ and see it with all the effects before I spoil it. Then again, I watched the FoF parade on youtube before I saw it live, and video does not do that dragon justice! Nah, I'll wait.

The MDE app is reporting a 25 minute wait. Wow! Glad there's a third theater. May be able to ride multiple times a day !

.....just to be clear, that's a seven, not a two...it's a 75 min wait currently, not 25 minutes but hey...still beats the 240 mins posted this morning when it opened!

It's nice to see a refurb Disney did right for once! Addressed capacity issues, kept aspects of the original people were attached to (the music, similar feel to the film, Patrick lol), didn't pull out everything and replace with cheap screens (yes I know, one big screen but you know what I mean), all while giving it a fresh new feel. This certainly wasn't a Test Track style refurb, I'll say that much ;).

If waiting that long is the ONLY option available to experience the ride (like, the last thing to do before rushing to the airport to end the vacation), yes I would do it, with a genuine smile on my face for the entirety of 250 + minutes waiting. I believe a large portion of guests fall into that category.

Possibly. But I would think it would be the opposite. Annual pass holders and super fans able to give up that much time.

If I am a family on my last day paying through the nose to be there...I wouldn't waste 4 hrs in one spot. How do people even deal with bathroom break...keeping kids entertained. Etc. Even your phone battery would die in that time frame (at least mine would lol)

I could be wrong though. Just hard for me to grasp when I only ride things that are like 45 min or less. so even on my last day of vacation with no return for 10 yrs...I still ain't doing it lol.

Wow - I can't imagine waiting that long. Can't wait to try it ourselves in October!!

we like Soarin' and without much else in Epcot enticing us away from it... we'd wait in it. Not superfans, just not enough other rides there. We don't do M:S, Figment, Energy, etc. :)

I get that...I really do. We usually only do the Mexican boat ride, soarin, and living with the land. But 4 hrs...ouch. I would be cranky myself...let alone my kids. I get too antsy. Especially knowing I can see it now for 4 hrs...or wait a week or so when frozen is open and probably wait an hour or 2 or none with fp. We go about every yr or 2, my personality wouldn't mind missing it.

But...I'm also the kind that would rather take a different way that may be 20 minutes longer just to avoid sitting in traffic. I just hate feeling trapped or not moving. I know it isn't logical lol.

45 minute wait on my MDE app. Not too bad. third theater is certainly helping!

On the Unofficial guide app the wait time is 37 minutes actual stand-by... the addition of the 3rd theater seems to be a real winner! My tolerance for waiting in line is usually 20 minutes, but for opening day for this in June... thats amazing!

I hope the mad rush lessens by next month. Our FP's are for Frozen, so we have to FP Soarin'.

OP here. Headed back to resort. I seriously doubt anybody waited 240 min. That line was moving steady at that time. I would guess those who got in it at the absolute worst time might have waited 90 min. That's still a long wait, but with opening day, not surprising. It was all fun. We only waited 25 including the seat belt check.

I think if they can keep all three theaters going, we can expect reasonable waits in the near future.
