Just got off Soarin. Absolutely amazing! The crowd broke into applause afterwards. Standby was 60 minutes when we exited.

AWESOME!!! This is making me so excited for September. 78 days until I can ride! So glad it is going to be the first ride of our trip because I can't wait any longer than I have to!!!

I dont get any of this. People wait 4 hours for a few minute ride? No ride at Disney is worth that. You must all be locals because i cant imagine assigning that large a percentage of a valuable park day in that line.

The only things I didn't care for were the digitally inserted effects used to cut from scene to scene. Like the whale and the dust throwing elephant. Those cheap tricks sort of detracted from the realism of the rest of the film. Otherwise, I think it looks great.

I love the movie and it can only be better when I will sit in the theater, but if I can be nitpicky... I think I would have enjoyed it more if we weren't jumping all over the map, I would preferred a more logical order either East -> West or West -> East. Now it was, North Pole, Sydney, Germany, Kenya/Tanzania, China, Egypt, India, US, France, WDW.

I'm not sure what I think about the cuts. I hated the hard cuts in the old version, but this is not ideal either.

I'm a local and I don't get it either. My maximum wait for a ride is 30 minutes, I think people who wait 240 minutes have lost their minds.

As a local you have that luxury. If someone is never going to come back, or at least not for years and years and years, waiting for something you really want to do is your only choice so you do it.

it's opening day - lot's of people want to say they rode it on opening day so not surprised to see lengthy waits today and people being ok waiting in it as it was probably their main goal for the day

I figure there are three groups who decided to go to Soarin' today:

1) The "gotta be first" crowd, probably nearly all holders of Annual Passes.
2) Bloggers and similar assorted riff-raff.
3) People for whom this is the last day of a vacation, and who decided they couldn't wait until the next time at WDW.

I think the pre show video is the exact same one as before. Just got off a little bit ago. Ride was awesome.

I was planning on not watching it. We don't have a trip planned, I lasted a whole 2.5 hours after park opening lol.

I'll probably check it out in a month or two. Hopefully the 3 theaters really keep the lines moving cause I doubt we'll wait more than 30 min for Soarin.

The MDE app is reporting a 25 minute wait. Wow! Glad there's a third theater. May be able to ride multiple times a day !
