Soarin' is OVERRATED

Gosh, I loved Soarin' when we went to DL, and was really excited to have it come to WDW. We rode it the last time we were down, and again, it was wonderful. Next time we go, I'm hoping to get my DM on the ride - she is in a wheelchair, but can transfer, and I really want her to experience the flying sensation.

Now Test Track, there's a ride I don't understand waiting in line for more than 10 minutes for...

KC :sunny:

Soarin' is nice but I would not wait very long for it. So it is not on the top ten in our household.

Well, we rode Soarin' in CA last summer, waited a horrendous 2 hours towards the end of the day (the line LOOKED short, I had no idea how slow loading it was), finally got on, in the first row, & LOVED it, (me, dd11, ds17). I was happy to see it was at Epcot so we could ride it again this year.

We did happen to be in the first row, I saw no feet, now I'm worried I need to be in the first row to love it.

I did live in the bay area for 10 years, the views were beautiful, I was completely oblivious to any 'editing' issues, not sure I would notice those. I really did feel like I was flying.

I don't plan to wait in line 2 hrs again though, FP only!

It is my favorite! The first time I rode it, I almost teared up. I just love everything about Soarin :thumbsup2

I love soarin DW thinks its okay but kids also love it. I would not wait two hours for any ride no matter how great it is. To each his own but we ride it mutiple times each visit

Initially, what even drew me to want to do this ride in the first place was the technology of the ride mechanism, but I got to see/hear more about that on the Travel and History channel than actually in Soarin'.

I sort of agree even though I like Soarin. I'm more impressed with the Crush technology. I will ride it again but never do the waits you hear about. I am always amazed/dissappointed that they didn't take the time to figure out how not to see the hanging feet of the row above you. I'd rather see something that looked like the front tip of a hanglider when looking up than a row of feet. I'd prefer the illusion of hangliding with my row versus a giant four row glider. I'm glad to see any new attraction, though, and I guess others are too so that drives up the wait to maybe unworthy levels.

I absolutely hear you, it has something spiritual going on.

Even in the coveted first row, I still saw the top of the screen and the dark building above it out of the corner of my eye, so it still ruined the effect. They needed to make the screen a little bit larger, and make the rows farther apart so the other rows don't see feet.
