can i have more info on this ride before i decided to do it... is it anything like mission space first of all?? There are no G-forces i hope! please give more info on this ride? It doesnt go upside down or anything does it?? I am a big baby!

I'm not a big fan of simulator rides but I liked Soarin'. It's very gentle, nothing like Mission Space (which I will not go near again). No upside down. If you are afraid of heights, you may want to pick row 3, it doesn't go as high up (the 3 rows are lifted up in front of the screen, row 1 is the highest).

Your not being a big baby. I don't blame you for asking.
Soarin is actually a very gentle ride. Simulates hand gliding. No drops or bumps & no upside down. ;) The scenery is just beautiful.
You will really enjoy it! I promise. Just make sure to get a FP or try to get there early....or you will be looking at at loooong wait.

I thought it was pretty mild. It's as if you are hang gliding along over different areas. I really enjoyed it - and I'm a big chicken when it comes to extreme rides. I was pleasantly surprised with Soarin'. :sunny:

No, Soarin' is NOT scary at all and it is nothing like Mission Space!

It is a simulator ride...sort of...but it is a gentle ride, like on a hang glider. No G's, nothing is bumpy or jerky and it does not go upside down.

I was nervous about it too...simulator rides usually make me sick, but I LOVED Soarin' :cool1:

Simulators tend to make me dizzy but Soarin was great. Like the previous poster said if you are afraid of heights you may want to request the 3rd row. The first row goes about 15 feet into the air so that all three rows can see the screen.

I agree-Soarin' is not scary at all, and I am not a fan of motion simulator type rides. I would *definitely* recommend a FP, though! My DD and I were there last week, and the average wait time was 50 minutes, but it was often 90-100 minutes. FPs were all distributed by 4:00 on most days.

Give it a go, and have fun!

Not scary at all! :flower: It actually took me until our very last day there to get DM to try it, and she loved it! I agree with the previous posters, if you're nervous go for the 3rd row, just tell the CM when they're assigning you rows since it doesn't go up as high (DM and I were in the second row and weren't bothered by it). Just be prepared to wait even with FP, since we waited at least another 15-20 minutes after entering during our time window.

I'm a big baby too. I loved Soarin'. Saw it in a preview in April and can't wait to see it again (with my whole family including giant chicken DW who won't even go on Test Track) :rotfl2:

This is the most thrilling ride, but not in the way you would think. Physically, it lifts you up and then just gently tips & dips you to simulate a gentle banking turn as if you were flying.
The thrill comes from the magnificent visuals of scenery in California, the beautiful music they coordinate with the visuals, the wind in your face, & the smells. It is so immersive that you would SWEAR that you are flying!
Don't be afraid or you will miss possibly the most awesome ride at WDW!!!
Enjoy! :sunny:

I'm afraid of heights but really want to try Soarin. Is it ok to ask a CM for row three? I don't want to hold up the loading and irritate the others trying to board.

Soaring is Awesome!!

We went at the end of the night and got on twice. The wait time was about 20 minutes. Don't miss it! My 11 yr old loves it!

I was there in May and rode Soarin' 3 times in one day!!! It is my absolute favorite new ride at EPCOT!!
I'm a big chicken also, but I'd been hearing the soundtrack for it over on live365 and the music hooks you and I was so looking forward to the actual ride. I rode in all 3 rows and the best is 1st row center section!! Gentle ride, fabulous views and the ending is the bomb!!!

No, it's not scary at all, unless you have a real fear of heights and try to look down at the floor too much.

My not-real-adventurous daughter loved it at age 4 and 6 (well, the one at Calif. Adventure). Really, I think if Peter Pan doesn't scare you, Soarin' won't.

How many people fit in the 3rd row? I know of 6 in our party that will want 3rd row!!!
Lori

I suffer from motion sickness and was very apprehensive about Soarin :Pinkbounc . I loved it!!!! And believe me, If I can go on it, anyone can!!! It;s an awesome time. I was very impressed. Just sit back, relax and away you go. You will be mamazed!

There's more than 6 seats, I'd say at least 10 in each row.

There are three rows, with three separate sections of seats. Each section of seats contains 10 seats.

My DD and I did this ride twice. The first time we were in row two, on the far left, and the second time we were in row one, smack dab in the middle. Both seats were great! The second flight, we took our shoes off so they wouldn't fly off on the folks below. The CMs will ask people wearing flip-flops to leave them on the ground so they don't fall off. We were wearing our Crocs, but wanted to join in the barefoot fun! :goodvibes
