Where do I begin? The crowds were amazing!! I have never, ever seen EPCOT what I would call busy before - it was JAMMED - at least Future World was during Extra Evening Magic Hour (EEMH). I'll try to report relatively objectively about EEMH under its own thread, but let me just say that the value resorts and moderate resorts (yet another thread to come) are completely sold out and the parks are full.
During week #1 (6/17-24), we had ideal June weather - mid-80's, low precipitation. Week #2 (6/24-7/1), had similar temperatures, but considerably more precipitation. Normally, I don't enjoy traipsing around in wet sneakers, but the rain was the only relief from the crowds. Most people didn't seem to know what the veterans or researchers know - put on a poncho and keep going. Other years, I considered this strategy optional. This year, it was essential.
Be prepared.
P.S. I am pleased that the Magic Your Way (MYW) program appears to be a smashing success - greater attendance numbers should help keep park prices down. It is, however, a different experience for those of us who typically don't go during peak season (Christmas, Easter, Presidents Week, etc,). Last time I remember crowds like this was Easter Tuesday, 1976!!
