Soarin' Closure

Hi everyone!

I just wondered if anyone knows if they will be closing Epcot for the expansion of Soarin'? If so, does anyone know when it will close?

There's been no announcement of a closure and the expansion isn't scheduled to be completed until late 2016.

I highly doubt they would close EPCOT to upgrade a single ride ...

aren't they just adding an additional theatre to service the crowds? I doubt they would cause too much disruption to the ride itself

In addition to adding an additional theater, they are going to upgrade the projection system in the existing theaters. I would suspect the projection upgrades won't happen until the third theater is complete so that can continue have two theaters in operation at a time.

But what about closing the park to continue the expansion of Norway/Frozen to take over the whole park.

I agree. The reason for the expansion is because of the popularity of the attraction which is on the Tier One at Epcot. To close the entire attraction just to add a third screen seems to be a stretch.

Well....if they close one more attraction at DHS, they may as well close the whole park.

Thanks for the replies. Apologies for my typo, I did mean ride closure and not park closure The reason for my question was because my bf has never been before and we are going for the first time next month, I would have been really annoyed if he couldn't have gone on it due to it being closed!
