So the DW & i spent the day at Epcot and we got lucky enough to be the 1st ones to get into the park at rope drop, we ran to Soarin' since we had found out they had disabled the FP+ for the ride and since it had been a little while since we rode the ride, we wanted to get on it fairly quickly since we had anticipated a long wait time later in the day ( after 12 the wait times climbed to over 60+ minutes stand by )

So we get in line and wait to enter , pretty standard , but once the seats rose into the screen and the ride started i noticed the screen had stains on it and the squares on the screen were very noticeable, so much so that it looked more like a movie circa 1989.

Has anyone else noticed the lack of "care " being taken , or should i say my perception of lack of " care " by Disney standards?

I would have thought by now with the growing popularity of HD technology , Disney would have implemented an HD version of the film for the ride?

This year we decided to be AP holders , but with the growing price of admission and what seems to be a lack of standards, it may very well be our last.

Just curious if anyone else noticed the screen in what looks to be " disrepair" .

Thank you Mouse fans !

I've heard that they are filming a new movie that will go over the USA, not just CA. They videoed at WDW a few months ago. I haven't heard if it will be in HD, but that would be my assumption.

So the repair is probably minimal until they revamp the whole ride. Personally, as a life-long Floridian, I always have wanted the ride to reach beyond CA, so I'm excited for the possibilities.

I agree, IIRC they filmed in CA because the ride was exclusive to Disneyland in CA, but it would be nice if they filmed the whole USA and landmarks representing the whole country.

Any source that can be found on the rumor?

Well since it opened in 2005 the rumor is there is either a new film is on the way or there is a new film "in the can".

Also HD only means something for digital capture. Soarin @WDW is still Analog projection, real flim. And anyway if they replace it with digital projectro it will be way above HD.

As with everything Disney, till it opens and I get to see it, it's rumor.

Well to start off with the attraction is called "Soarin" Not "Soarin over California." Second it's in the Land Pavilion, not MK or DHS or AK.

The rumor from when it opened was that since it was a "Gift" to WDW from DLR, that the film was only running for the 2005 year of a million dreams. Once the year was up there is a new film based on eco-systems of the world, rain forest, desert, mountain, ocean etc.. was ready to replace it.

The rumors have fired back up since it's 9.5 years old now. Which means come April/May of next year it's 10. And you know how humans like 5's and 10's ;)
