Hope this is the right place to post this:goodvibes It has been an extremely stressful week  and sleep has not come easily even using all the relaxation tools that I know of. My daughter was served an orange slice with her meal one night and it caused us to reminisce about the smell of oranges on Soarin'. Later that night, (the 3rd of sleeplessness) I took a ride on Soarin' in my imagination and tried to remember all the special effects. I was so relaxed at the end that I slept great. :cloud9: The power of WDW even when the trip is long over. Can't wait til we can go again until then my memories will always be there.:flower3:

You should buy one of the park CD's with the musical score of Soarin' to aid in your relaxation.

When I have trouble sleeping (which is quite often), I usually put the Soarin' or Impressions de France tracks on my iPod. Usually, I don't make it through the whole track before I'm out. There's just something about these two tracks that are so completely relaxing and calming. My mind just goes quiet and I'm flying over California or France.

*sigh* December is still too far away...

I play the music from the queue at work pretty often. It's a long piece of music (a little over an hour), so it doesn't get repetitive. It really helps to relax at work and make me think about my next trip to WDW.

Absolutely agree!

I think the queue music for Soarin' at Epcot is some of the best compilation of
"grand, open, and free" selections anywhere!

Another "grand" choice is the atrium lobby music from Wilderness Lodge.

Thinking about Disney as a relaxation aid has come in so handy these past few (extra stressful) weeks. When I'm trying to get to sleep, I list our ADRs for our upcoming trip in my head: "Biergarten, Crystal Palace, Coral Reef, Boma..." I'm usually asleep before I can make it halfway through the week! It even worked when I was getting blood taken at the doctor's the other day. But the nurse must have been wondering why her patient was mumbling to herself about Cinderella's Royal Table...:rolleyes1

I should buy a CD. Every now and then when I am stressed I do listen to Soarin on youtube, though!

I've heard the tracks for the queue lines on DIS radio from time to time, but have never known where to purchase these. Are they available at World of Disney at Downtown Disney? We'll be there and at EPCOT next week. Just wondering where to look.

Nope. Most selections are not from Disney at all.

They are compilation (a "mix tape" in today's jargon) of movie soundtrack selections... and just the "best parts" of the cuts, at that.

To find a list of the selections used in MANY of the "music loops" at Disney,
go HERE and click through the many links to the various lists.

I too use this type of relaxation tool, but I've never thought about picturing a WDW ride. Usually if I cant sleep, I play a round of golf in my head. But even in my imagination I still hit poor shots so I still get stressed out:lmao: I'll have to give this one a try....

I'm so glad to know I'm not the only one! I suffer from some anxiety issues and WDW is one of the few places I feel totally safe and stress free. When I get home, I try and remember the feelings I get when I'm there to help me relax. I never thought of using some of the music like Soarin'....thanks for the great idea!!
