Soarin and Test Track??

We will be at Disneyworld next Saturday and we are travelling with our two boys ages 9 and 3 yrs 3 months. Here is my question: At Epcot my older son loves Test Track and Soarin is on his must do list...my younger son "thinks" he is 9 thus wants to do everything that his brother does. Since Soarin is so new can anyone who has gone tell me if their 3 year old rode this and how they liked it?? I know each child is different but it is hard to decide if he can ride if you have never ridden it before. Thanks for any help you can give on this. Also has anyone had 3 year olds ride Test Track or should we do parent swap on this ride. Both have heights of 40" which he makes so I am just looking for some direct parent opinions

Tell him my DD4 with pink bows in her hair went on Test Track twice and LOVED IT!!! She would have done it at 3 too, but we didn't go that year. I don't think it's any worse than Big Thunder Mtn RR (if your younger son does that).

As for Soarin, I haven't been on it yet, but everything I read said it's pretty tame.

Test Track is not bad at all for the younger kids in my opinion...but if he is afraid of 'crashing' into things or going really fast then maybe this is not for him
soarin' on the other hand is the most amazing ride ever all it is is you are seating on what looks like a hanging bench type thing you strap in then you are lifted towards the screen (first row is the highest 3rd row is the lowest in height) then scenes of san fransico are played on it. It really feels like you are flying...there are smell effects and all in all it is a really amazing ride. I have seen some kids in line who freaked out then got on and loved it...but it's all really up to you and what you think your child/ren are capable of

Soarin IS very mild ... just that initial "WHOOSH" when you take off. i would definitely take a tall-enough 3 year old

FYI ... there is a through-the-legs seatbelt on Soarin that you use for kids (in addition to lap belt)

As for test track ... the queue can be loud and intimdating if he gets through that okay ... he'll probably love the ride

when my DD was 5 ... she decided at the last minute not to ride TT
CMs were awesome ... took us up to control booth to watch DH and friends on the ride ... after seeing it from there DD decided to give it a go ... she loved it

in control booth we learned that the interior ride travels less than 5 mph ... if you think about it its really tame ... just some effects to make seem more intense ... and outside is just fast ... not bumpy or crazy ... fats and smooth

My daughter (6 now) rode Test Track for the first time when she was 3... loved it.

We haven't been to EPCOT since Soarin' debuted, so I couldn't give an opinion. But we'll be there in October...

My 3yo DS LOVED Soarin'! I was a bit jumpy at times, but Dh and I sat on either side of him and each kept one hand on his leg to reassure him.
It is mild, with no "jerks"...they even have an extra strap for smaller guests which goes between their legs and attaches to the lapbelt (to prevent them from slipping out.

My DD was about 4 1/2 first time she rode Soaring. She's small so it took that long for her to be able to met height. This is one of her favs! She just loves it. As I've been on many times I was able to tell her what to expect and what special things to look for (Hidden Mickey in Palm Springs, skier falling, hikers, etc.)

Her first time on TT was Jan. 2005. She was a little over 5 (first time she met height limit.) She was a little nervous about it but I told her, again, what to expect, and it's also one of her favs. She can't wait to ride again in Sept.

She also rode ToT on the last trip and I failed to tell her that her little bottom would lift off the seat. She didn't like that part.

Thanks for all of the positive responses....I am even more excited for our trip to think that we may not be split up the whole day like we were when he was one. Soarin is one of the rides we are the most excited about and are hoping that we are able to get on it during our stay...especially with using Fastpass. Thanks again

We rode this 2 summers ago and my stepdaughter was 3 at the time. She just barely made the height requirement, but LOVED it! She still talks about it. I didn't find it scary at all and neither did my stepkids (3 and 6 at the time). They loved the orange grove (take a big whiff when you "fly" over it) and it was neat to see where we live from a bird's eye view (Tahoe). They also loved that they got to fly over their mother's ship (the USS Stennis) and called her as soon as we got back to the room to let her know they could see where she "lived".

We used a FP for the ride and are glad we did. Even with the FP, it was a wait of about 25-30 minutes (I think Soarin' had just opened so it was really packed). But it was worth the wait and we are looking forward to trying the one at WDW!

We also took her on BTMTRR in DL and she loved it! She was one of the smallest kids there but definitely not the most scared. She's kind of a daredevil though, so I'm sure that's why she loved it. We're getting my 8 year old stepson to loosen up a bit and it's working. He just recently rode Medusa, which is the fastest coaster in Northern CA (it's a floorless coaster that goes upside down several times and makes grown men puke...LOL) and really enjoyed that. His first big coaster was at California Adventureland...he was 6 when he tried California Screamin' and Maliboomer. I was proud that he rode both since he's a bit timid. But we think now we've got a coaster junkie on our hands....he begged to ride Medusa over and over and over.....sigh...we had to draw the line at 6 times!!!

My 3 (now 4, was 3 @ time of trip) year old is more fearless than his 8 yo brother. Test track scared me more than it scared him, but it was a great ride. Soarin is very mild and a great treat. I would say let em' go!

I would think that if your child was okay on a Ferris Wheel he'd be okay on Soarin - similar seating and movement???
