soap opera weekend november

Does anyone know if the hold the Soap weekend at the same time every year? That would put it the weekend of Nov. 7th? A friend tried to go at the last minute last year and couldn't get a room. They are planning ahead. Also, are most of the crowds at MGM instead of MK? They have small children and are fine with staying at MK the whole time.

Nov. 8th and 9th are the days, and I have ressies starting on Nov. 7th thru the 9th. Yes MGM will be crowded, but, only if you are going to wait in lines for the Soap Stars. They do a great Job on Crowd Control. The rides will have hardly ANY wait, and you will have a good time.

As for crowd levels, most of the extra crowds will be going to the special events for the SSW, so if you are just at the Studios for the regular attractions, it shouldn't be that bad.

Thanks for posting this info. We will be at WDW that weekend, but thought we'd just skip MGM to avoid the crowds. After reading this, I'm thinking that maybe we will go and try to get in a few of our favorite attractions.

For anyone who has been there that weekend.....how is MK? Are most of the crowds at MGM?

We were there last year - had no clue NOT to go on a Sat to MK but wanted to see the fireworks. BIG MISTAKE!!! WALL to WALL people on Main Street - it was a mess.... I thought my mom was going to loose it. We have always travelled in the off season to avoid the crowds. I learned (didn't know about these boards then) not to do MK on Sat. One hint that it was going to be busy was that they extended the closing of MK to 11pm that night!!

Anyway, we bought into DVC so we plan on arriving on Sundays
