Soap and Shampoo

Leaving tomorrow AM for a week at BWV
Does anyone know if soap and shampoo are supplied in the rooms? Does Mousekeeping replenish with towel and trash service?

Yes about both soap and shampoo. Trash and towels depends on how long you stay. I think it's every 3 days but not sure.

Yes there is soap and I think a shampoo/conditioner combination in the villa when you arrive.....and mousekeeping does leave more on trash and towel day...enjoy your trip

On a recent trip we had plenty of soap, shampoo, etc on check-in (more than 1 set per bathroom) and then when we had trash and towel service on Day 4 they brought more. This was in a 2-bedroom villa. They left 2 packets of laundry detergent - we needed more than this but had brought some with us. There was plenty of dishwash liquid and dishwasher detergent.

We switched to a 1-bedroom for our final 2 days... this one had only 1 set of soap and shampoo (the 2-bedroom had 4 when we arrived, one set on each sink). That might not be enough to get a family of 4 through the first 4 days.

You'll get another set for each bathing area every time you get service. That means on a points reservation, you will get it every four days.

So if you are in a one bedroom with a single bathroom, you'll get two sets - one for the shower are and one for the tub area. In the newer resorts (BLT and AKV), I'm not sure if the shower area and tub area each get their own set because they are right next to each other. But those resorts do have a second bathroom at the entrance to the villa.

Technically if you ask for more bath/soap supplies between mousekeeping visits you are supposed to be charged. But we have never been charged if we needed more. Dish soaps can be requested at no charge. Laundry soap is also supposed to be charged if you need more between mousekeeping but I don't know if it actually happens (we always bring our own laundry soap).

Yes they supply you with both. Im sure they will give you more if you need it, the workers in the resorts are great.

But what you get for "free", all the members ultimately pay for. Nothing is free at DVC.

The last time we were at OKW in DisneyWorld, we received soap, shampoo and conditioner, as well as a small (tiny) box of laundry detergent. In the kitchen, there is a (tiny) bottle of dish detergent.

We recommend, if you have a car, leaving all that stuff at home and driving to Winn Dixie to stock up on those essentials for your stay. It's far cheaper than buying extras from Disney! We also "save" the branded Disney stuff to take home for the kids to use later.

They did do a replenish mid-week if you're staying a full week (same for towels, sheets, etc.). Housekeeping comes in mid-week, although you could pay extra for daily if you choose.

November Bay Lake Towers 2 Bedroom for 10 nights. On the trash and towel and weekly cleaning they left one in 2 of 3 bathrooms so we had to buy shampoo.

January Animal Kingdom Villas 4 night Studio with only Trash and Towel - no shampoo or soap was replenished. It was a problem.

I felt housekeeping was being really cheap in both cases. We'll now bring shampoo. (And my kids don't shower every day!) And we did leave tips before all services.

If they don't replenish the soap/shampoo/conditioner, you should call. DH called management at BLT when our towels were left by the kitchen table during our BLT stay. The next day, everything was done correctly.

Every fourth day when they replace your towels.

We got towels replaced and trash dumped, but no new soap or shampoo in our AKV January marathon time period stay.

That's us in January. Guess we weren't alone. I was surprised to at least not have shampoo replenished. Just one bottle!
