I can see where not everyone would connect with Ellinore. She is not the traditional pretty girl dancing pretty. But of course, Mollee WAS the traditional pretty girl dancing pretty and now she's out (so that shows how much I know.)

I did not connect to her quirkiness and I'm betting a lot of folks may not have either. I think she dances beautifully which is more important than being a pretty girl IMHO.
Some of y'all are harsh.
Ashleigh did not break any rules and the amount of--hope--in that her injury is worse is...downright disheartening especially this time of year.
I guess I don't get it--and for that reason, I am sort of hoping she rocks it. It's one thing to wish someone out...entirely different to wish them injured and out.![]()
unfortunately no...I feel like I am the only one rooting for Ryan and Ashleigh on this board...
We voted for Ryan in our household.
unfortunately no...
so you 2 are to blame for this lamppost making it through! the boy can't dance - what he does do is make his partner look fantastic. both by being a great partner - he's strong so lifts look great and he stands there well while the woman does all the hard stuff around him and by allowing the woman's technical superiority shine through.
I want someone to win who shines in a variety of styles outside their own - and wows me with solos in their own style. Ryan does neither. This is not solely because he is a ballroom dancer, other ballroom/partner dancers have made it to the top 4 in almost every season - because they belonged there.
It can't possibly be just us though?! Right? There must be some others out there?
Oh and don't get me wrong. I love the married couple... But they are not going to win.
Russell will win. No question about it.
I guess I'm in the minority as far as being glad to see Legacy go. My husband and I feel that the "draw" has definitely been rigged in his favor, at least for the last three weeks or so. The judges keep talking about how he is a B-boy and he's being thrown into these contemporary and hip-hop routines that are not in his style. But let's face it, the choreographers keep incorporating the break dancing moves that he does so well into those routines for him. I can't even remember the last time he did a ballroom routine. I don't think there would be any way that you could work a headstand into a smooth waltz! I'm not a big Ryan fan either, but I think he will go next week anyway.Let's face it, the couples are rigged, as are the routines they "draw".
Really? I'm curious which you liked so much. I'm not picking on you, I promise! I loved Kayla last season and no one here seemed to like her at all, so I understand. I'm just genuinely curious which routines you thought were outstanding."so you 2 are to blame for this lamppost making it through!"
You know, I was put off by Ryan at first because of his shirtlessness, I don't dig the shiny chest look, but my opinion is that he did some amazing routines. That being said I don't think the 5 or 10 votes we through his way pushed him to the top 6, I'm just sayin'.But he is one talented lamppost.
And I agree with Leggy, I don't think he or Ashleigh will win. I'm really hoping Katherine wins. I could watch her dance all day.
I think you could make your argument for many of the dancers. How many times have we seen a jete (is that right?? cabanafrau, missy??) thrown in for Jakob? Ellenore's had a lot of quirky routines. Of course the choreographers will showcase the talents of their dancers. Legacy does things no one else can. It's entertainment and I'll watch him any day over Ryan.I guess I'm in the minority as far as being glad to see Legacy go. Does anyone remember how Noelle was injured when she was partnered with Russell? I love Russell so I'm not picking on him, but this is his second partner to be injured. I wonder if he's holding them/doing something improperly and causing them to be injured?
Yet, what if he did do something (not on purpose) to contribute to the injurie(s)?
I didn't watch the show until recently. I tried once years ago and didn't care for it, and now I can't imagine why. Anyway, one of the things I've had to concede with the show is that the performance and personalities of the dancers seems to be as important, sometimes possibly more important, than the actual dancing.I don't care for Ryan much, but I can't say he's only done a stinky job. Early on he had some really good effort in some contemporary routines. I kind of have to laugh at the description of him just being a partner, doing lifts and having his partner dance around him -- that's ironically one of my huge issues w/ Ashleigh.
Yes, it gets a bit boring when they keep throwing in Legacy's b-boy skills into every type of number. I'd have to concede Ellenore's quirky tendencies have been thrown in for her & Jakob's leaps have been used whenever possible. However the judges have given Ellenore flack about the quirky & Jakob received feedback about his leaps showing up in every routine. I don't think they even blinked about Legacy's moves showing up in every routine.
I enjoyed Legacy tremendously despite the fact I was bitter about him making top 20 at first. I'd have preferred Ryan get cut before him, but I can understand the voting. I haven't enjoyed Mollee's presence very much at all until top ten time. She did an outstanding job. I still cannot wrap my brain around the fact she went home & a dancer who didn't perform remains.
As much as I've enjoyed watching Legacy & Russell, I really like to watch the show as objectively as I can, so the imbalance in judges' comments really annoy me. I actually don't think Ellenore or Mollee were designated as contemporary specialists, I believe they were designated as jazz specialists. For most people watching that's splitting hairs. But when the judges continually praise both Russell & Legacy for their hip hop skills, which are not their specialty, I think fair is fair. IMO Krump & B-Boy are much more kissing cousins to hip hop than jazz is to contemporary.
I thought the same thing! But I didn't want to be picked on by Russell lovers... I like Russell, and like I mentioned before, he is the clear winner in this competition with Jakob being the runner up.
What surprised me is that the judges didn't mention anything about that. I mean, he was praised for doing so well with only one days notice with a new partner over and over again. Yet, what if he did do something (not on purpose) to contribute to the injurie(s)?
