We have never been and I've seen the pictures.
And people talk about(good and bad)room layout . About the dining there.
Do you need a car to get around?.
But what did you love about it. TIA

Very active vacation, went in May before summer crowds, gorgeous weather, biking, very nice beaches, pools, great restaurants on HHI, very convenient; 2 adult sons loved it!:thumbsup2

I had to laugh at the PP's description of "active". Goes to show everyone's different. To us, it's the most restful vacation. We love just sitting on the balcony, in the adirondack chairs watching wildlife. Maybe I'll head to Big Murgie's Den for a while to read the local paper. DH spends many mornings golfing, then we go to lunch. In the afternoon, we'll take a stroll along the marina, the beach, or some nature area. If the weather's nice, bike riding is lots of fun. For us, it's a much different vacation from WDW. I can't imagine not having a car, so many great restaurants, so little time. Around 3:00, the cookies and warm apple cider (we go in November/December) come out. Headed there on the 17th for 10 days-I can't wait for the rest before the excitement of the Christmas holiday.

Before we went for the first time our ride loving daughter was upset that we were not going to to DW. We wondered whether our two grandsons would be disappointed. We took our mother in law, both daughters and had a 2 bedroom and 1 bedroom for a week. It was wonderful. My 84 year old mother in law saw the ocean for the first time. We played in the ocean, bought boogie boards and had a heap of fun. Went on bike rides, played miniature golf, learned about crabs (we live in fly over country). Did a couple of picnics. Went to Savannah for a day (ride loving daughter went to Savannah School of Art and Design). I read two books. Two pools to play in, the slide is a lot of fun. Went on a fishing trip, son in law caught a 60 lb red fish, everyone caught a shark (catch and release). The more agile of the group did some kayaking and zip lining. The food on the island is amazing and was able to handle our celiacs daughters needs. We plan on going back this summer.

I'm from UK and HHI us one of the nicest places I've ever been.
I haven't stayed in the DVC resort, but stayed in Palmetto Dunes across the road and it's what first got me researching about what DVC was.
I'm planning on returning to the DVC resort, perhaps summer 2020.

What do think of the Dlx Studio??
Would 2 Adults feel crowded?

No, I don't think 2 adults would feel crowded at all. We stay in 1 BRs mostly because we stay for 10-12 days and like the extra room of the full size refrigerator (and kitchen in general) and having a washer/dryer. The porches are really nice, but for a 1 BR, there's the addition of a picnic table.

You're going to want a car to be able to get to the rest of the island. Too many great restaurants and golf courses to list.

You could get by without a vehicle and only eat at the few restaurants across the street, but you'd be missing out on a lot.

My best recommendation would be to rent bikes if that works for you. HH is very flat and very bike friendly. It's a great way to go to the beach house and explore the island.
