So who's waitlisting for December already

I own at VB and was hoping to get a BWV studio at the 7 month window for December 13 - 20.....

Now I will cross my fingers to get ANYTHING onsite for that time! May 13 seems a long ways away!

Still waiting...... I added BWV on to my waiting game along with BCV :rolleyes1

Anyone want to trade? I have BWV standard 1 bedroom, Dec. 3 - 10 and am waitlisted for a BW view. I called on Jan. 10 and could only get 3 of the 7 days. I took the 3 days and have not had any additional ones come up since then, even though I am on automatic, day-by-day. I had hoped that when the 7 month window opened someone might give up a BW view for something else, but so far no luck :sad2:

We are waitlisted for a 2 BR at WLV for 12/6-10. We are reserved at SSR, our "home," if that doesn't come through. I was very surprised when I called at exactly 7 months out in the AM and it was already booked solid. Good luck everyone!

We were able to get a one-bedroom for the Fri and Sat nights we wanted at BWV, but not the Thursday night. So, we'll try to get Sun night instead, but if we can't, we'll stay on the waitlist for both Thurs and Sun and take whichever comes through first!

Question about waitlisting....

If you have a ressie at one resort, your points for that ressie are already "tied up", so to say. Then, you waitlist for a different resort for the same vacation time. Do you have to have enough pts to cover your current ressie and the waitlisted ressie?

For example: I have a SSR ressie for Feb. 11-17. If at the 7 month window I decide to change resorts and they are already booked and I need to be waitlisted, do I have to have another 245 pts. avail for the waitlist?

Or, are pts only "tied up" once the ressie is made?

Thanks.

Amie

Your points for waitlist dates are not used until you actually book the waitlist dates. If you take waitlist days one at a time as they become available but still keep your original ressie as a backup, you will be using a lot of points. You can choose to cancel days to the original ressie one at a time as the waitlist days are booked, but you will risk changing rooms/resorts, possibly multiple times. You can choose to not book any waitlist days until all the days are available, but during busy times this may severely limit your chances because others may snap up individual days and there may never be a time when all your waitlist days are available at once. It's all up to you.
I hope I haven't totally confused you!

Well I'm new to DVC and a frequent offsite visitor. (Own several weeks at Marriott and go down yearly.) We wanted to mix up our stays a bit and add time at Disney's resorts to our usual Marriott stays.

After hemming and hawing, I ended up with a plan and backup plan (mostly due to reading this site and this thread). Our first choice was to stay in a studio at Wilderness Lodge for 4 nights (Dec 7 - 11), but there was no room at the inn. Second choice was a studio at Saratoga but they had none that were accessible. (Apparently I found the flaw in DVC... accessible units are hard to come by.) So I ended up on the hunt for a 1 bedroom.

Found one at Beach Club but only for 3 nights and I'm a day early to book the last night of the stay. So after contemplating one night at Saratoga in a non-accessible Studio then switch to BCV for 2 nights and wait 12 hours to see if they still had the 3rd night available, I went with the safe bet: 4 nights at Saratoga Springs in a 1 bedroom accessible unit.

I'm waitlisting VWL and BCV with an automatic confirmation on all 4 nights if they are confirmed accessible. I chose to stick to the 7 day waitlist option.

I'm using 60 more points than I had anticipated, but we still have enough to spare for this year and next.

I am surprised by the lack of availability that week. Interval International is showing tons of units available for the same time in 2 bedrooms. Accessibility has never been an issue at Marriott. I call 4 weeks before to request it and I'm always given a room with roll-in shower and great accessibility. I'm hoping Disney gets better with choices in other time periods or the stay is more than worth it.

So far I'm planning a trip down for 11 days... 7 at Marriott's Cypress Harbour and 4 at Disney. I'm bringing my dad and a friend who's never been there before. Got us some tickets to the Christmas Party on the 4th, ressies for LTT, and I'm thinking of talking my friend into staying an extra night on Disney property with us. Then his last night there (when we vacate Marriott and move to Saratoga or wherever) he can do some night on the town stuff with me... Downtown Disney.

For those interested, they did have 1 bedroom villas available for VWL 7-11 and lots of Studios at Saratoga. None are accessible though.

I was hoping to switch our OKW 1 Br to BWV or BCV or WL 1 Br from 28th Dec - 3rd Jan but from reading these posts I don't think we will stand much chance :confused3

I just tried to book a one bedroom at OKW for Dec 2-8 2006 and was unable to get all the nights, which surprised me. So it seems like even getting OKW at the 7-month window is getting harder. I guess I should have done a day-by-day reservation.

We are waitlisted at BWV for Dec 1-5 for a 2br any view. We have a reservation at SSR for a 2br but won't be disappointed if BWV doesn't come through.

We reserved a 1 bedroom at BCV for Dec 26th to Jan 3rd. We are hoping along with everyone else to switch to VWL... I'm still trying to decide on whether we should to waitlist day by day or for the whole stay? This will be the first time I've ever waitlisted... Any advice would be great. I'll be ready to call at the end of the month.

My 7 months actually opened yesterday for my first night, but this morning I was able to call and get a 1br pref at BWV for 12/9 and 12/10. They also had 12/8 available.

This repalces the 2 nights I had in a 1br at VWL for those dates.

Also I wanted to thank anyone who cancelled a 1br at SSR today for the night of 7/3!

I am waitlisted for a studio at VWL for 12/5-9, I completely see it as my holy grail of the holiday season. I will be cool without it, but it would be cool!

I'm sure over the next week or so, they'll start switching people around.
I've got a 2 bedroom at VWL and I want to switch it over to BCV/BWV.
I'm hoping that there's somebody out there from BCV/BWV trying to do the same.

Good luck to everyone :wizard:

I am booked for OKW for the week 12/10-12/17. I have beeen waitlisting BCV and BWWV day by day. So far I have 12/10 waitlisted for BCV and BWV, reserved 12/11 in a BCV lock-off and still have the OKW reserved. On Monday, I will try to get 3 more consecutive days. The CM said it looked like the 10th is the really bad day to get so far. She had the next 3 nights open, so she said I might get them if I call really early Monday morning. I will call bright and early!.

Good luck to all of us! :goodvibes

:woohoo:

We are waitlisted for Dec. 3 through Dec 8 for a BWV 1 bedroom. We booked our Home Resort SSR just in case.

Good Luck to Everyone!
