So who's coming with us??

We will be bringing the Magic to Barcelona, arriving there at April 23, and disembarking on April 24. I don't think we can afford a back-to-back (money wise and time wise :sad1: )

I wish this was a realistic possibily but like others I will follow your exploits through blog and FB.

You will love Barcelona Pete. Gaudi's architecture, the fiercely proud Catalan's (not Spanish) people along with the cosmopolitan nature of the city makes it a very beautiful European city :)

Over New Years, my oldest BIL and MIL enjoyed going to Mickey's, a tapas bar, near the Hotel Gaudi.
The streets of Barcelona were colorfully decorated with lights for the holidays, each with a unique theme. We discovered Mickey’s, a wonderful tapas bar near our hotel on Las Ramblas, which became a mainstay of our diet there. Tapas are little dishes or snacks, of a huge variety, often found in cafes and bars. Olives, shellfish, meats, sausages, omelets, vegetables, salads, and deep-fried delights provide a gastronomical cornucopia of delights. Unable to decide on which ones to choose in one sitting, we returned to Mickey’s 3 times and came nowhere near sampling the entire selection.
My BIL loves going to Barcelona.

He is going to travel to Asia at the of this month for undetermined amount of time.

edited: My Bil also loves this place (from his travel blog)---sorry for even tempting you when you are learning how to manage your health situation:

We ended the day with a stroll through the Gothic Quarter where we attended mass in Barcelona’s magnificent 14th century La Seu Cathedral. Afterward, we treated ourselves to Chocolate y Churros at Xurreria, a wonderful chocolate bar around the corner from the cathedral.
Our final day, we started out and ended well, but had a little mix up in the middle that resulted in me losing my mother for a couple hours and the other way around. Off Rambla dels Estudis, is La Mercat de Sant. Josep de la Boqueria, an incredible indoor-outdoor food market with hundreds of stalls filled with meat and seafood of every variety, exotic fruits and vegetables, candy, spices, flowers, cheeses and tapas bars. After wandering around this market, astounded at the variety, we stopped at a café stand for a breakfast of tapas, coffee, and a Spanish omelet (tortilla con patatas) that was freshly made and simply to die for.

I see our financial advisor tomorrow. I don't think he's gonna think much of us refinancing the house yet again for a cruise...not even for PCC2.0 :(

Can't make it on the cruise, but since you are in the Europe area there would be a lot of British fans who wouldn't mind if you took a slight de-tour home! :rolleyes1

I just listened to Corey's show yesterday. I immediately thought about getting on board, but 11 days is a very long time... No way DH can make it...

I don't think it has yet sank in that we're really going!
There's going to be quite a few sacrifices over the next few months, especially with pcc 2.0 in Dec, but it's going to be sooooo worth it!!!

Now fingers crossed there may be some upgrades going when we get to the port

We will be on the Easternbound TA just before your cruise...will you come out to the port in Barcelona to greet the Magic?

If you need anyone to give a review of the TA, just let me know! :goodvibes

Love you guys!!!

It's such a shame you can't make it on this cruise :sad1: But it would be fab to see you all again on the 24th :cloud9: I'll let you know when we've booked our flights and see if we'll have time to meet you. I think we saw a flight that would land in Barcelona at 10.35am - so we may have a couple of hours that overlap. Are you flying home on the 24th?

Love you guys too - miss you

Pete, Europe can be a dangerous place. It would be irresponsible of you not to take someone along to provide security for you and Walter. I'm here to help. I'll be expecting a call. :thumbsup2

Especially with people like me around - you wanna listen to what the man says!

Sigh, we were so thinking we could go. But then we looked at the dates. The monday of the cruise is when Im scheduled to go back to work from my Maternity leave. :(

Are you flying home on the 24th?

We are docking in Barcelona April 23th and then we stay one more night on the ship while docked in Barcelona.
Then the 24th we need to disembark maybe you guys can hide us somewhere in your room........:love::love:

My mother comes over to Barcelona on April 24th she arrives around 2.30pm (because of our luggage: one suitcase to many) and then she is staying with us a few days in Barcelona.
We fly home April 26th.

So yeah we can meet each other the 24th or if you guys are there already the 23th then we can eat dinner in Barcelona!!!!

It sounds like such a fantastic trip! I can't wait to real all about it and hear the details on the podcast.

Becx and Gav, you know you want to get Pete and Walter to take a little de-tour to London, it's not that far out the way! :lmao:

Yeah - I would come from Scotland for that ;) or a mini meet in DLP ;)

I wish I could. You're going to have a fabulous time.

If you're up for easy adventure, I highly recommend the Segway tour in Barcelona with Edgar. He speaks English fluently, and gives excellent tours, history of the area, and info on life today in Barcelona. He also has a great sense of humor. http://www.barcelonasegwayglides.com/

We also went on private tours at Sicily, Naples, Pompeii, & Rome - be happy to send that info on to you.

We wish we could join you, but we're going to Disneyland the same week! We're staying at the Grand Californian Villas for our very first time!
