So, who will be up at midnight to see if a deal has come true on Disney's website?

OMG, I've got to stop reading all of this. I'm getting way too excited!

If I already have a package booked at CSR, and they release the discount rates to general public next Monday, I can call and apply that to my package, correct?
My big concern is that the rate will be good only for a "select amount" of rooms at each resort, and if those are all taken, I'd still have to pay the non-discount rate... Or does having a room already booked there guarantee you the new rate?

You are correct, there are a limited number of rooms for each resort. I had to switch from pofq to csr, so having an existing reservation isn't going to necessarily help you.

Sorry, Rip, I'm kind of coming in in the middle of this conversation...what "deal" did you end up booking and where did you hear the news about the Visa free dining deal?

Thanks! I'm a little overloaded with info this morning!

She said it was a new passholder deal for free dining and a room discount. Not sure what it's officially called. The cm told me when it would be released to visa holders and the public. Not sure if it's true.

Is this discount good for CL rooms? I have a junior suite already booked and it'd be neat to be able to save a little (or a lot) of $.

I was calling because I was trying to help a couple who are Florida residents. I was doing this in preparation of the so-call deal coming out tomorrow. My concern is that the Florida residents get the cheaper deal on park tickets then what is offered in the package deal (the magic your way tics) for a promo.

Anyway, I hinted that I was doing this in preparation of the promo coming out tomorrow to the CM. I then laughed and asked if this could be true about a new promo. Without down right telling me in black and white the CM indicated there would be a deal coming without exactly saying it totally to me.

It was enough for me to feel convinced it's a coming, yes it is!

Am I the only person who is totally confused? There are so many posts about deals and maybe a Visa deal and maybe a GP deal and I'm just lost.. :rotfl2:

Where is the "you are going 11/30/09-12/7/09 and here's what you do" thread??

So what do you think its going to be? FD for Disney Visa? I've read booking for as early as tomorrow and I've read Friday...what do you think?

It's probably so confusing because there's a lot of info/rumors flying around out there!

Here's what we know for sure: Today AP rates were released. If you have an AP (or plan on getting one) you can get a discount on the room with the option to add dining.

The rumor is that something (free dining?) is about to be released for Disney Visa members (first, likely) and then to the general public.

Keep posted here for the latest info...you can call CRO at 7am EST, but more than likely you'll hear it here first. A lot of times people call and the CMs haven't even heard of the new codes, so these boards are a great place to find them!

I just called and spoke to a CM and when I asked about specials for free dining after Oct he said, "Well I don't see anything yet, but that's not to say that something won't pop up in the next few weeks."

I need this thread too!:rotfl:

She said Friday for visa cardholders and Monday for the public. They did not offer this to the public last year for this timeframe. And notice I put scare quotes around "free", because, basically, we got it for $630 rather than $1000 or whatever it would have been.

rip, im sorry but would u care to explain about free dining for visa holders. do i have to book a package (meaning apackage that includes tickets, bc we have AP and we usually never book package bc of that)!!! or do we just have to book a room and get free dining???

Thanks

I'm joining in on this thread!

I'm an AP holder and a Florida Resident and a Disney Visa card member! :goodvibes LOL!

I just got a package with dining at the passholder rate. It comes to about $700 less than the same items (room plus DDP) without the discount. This is for 4 nights at the Grand Floridian, Dec. 19-23. I do not yet have my AP in hand because I'm going to get it when I'm there in about 10 days. She told me it was a "Passholder Package" because I had the DDP.

TAM, do you mind me asking how much you got the package for...we are also planning on going around those dates too

I wish I could, I'm only going by what the CM told me, but looking at the passholder part of the site the current deal for passholders is not free dining, it's just a room discount with dining added at regular price. Last year, they did offer free dining with a room discount if you had a Disney Visa from the beginning of October through mid-December, with some dates blacked out.

You had to book it as a package, and if I'm not mistaken all you had to do was have at least 1 day of park tickets, which you can use towards your AP renewal.

ERV...
the "passholder package" is typically where AP holders are able to just add dining to their room. It is only offered to AP holders, and is with a special AP rate, like the one that was announced today. So, if you have an AP (or will getting one for your trip) then you should be able to call & book the room, and add the DDP to your ressie.

Hello all! My mind is spinning! :faint:

Question:

I am a Disney Visa holder and currently have a package booked at POP. IF there is a deal for card holders coming out Friday morning, will I be notified through email or through my Chase account log in, or will I have to keep checking WDW's website?

Thanks and pixiedust: to us all waiting with anticipation! I know where I will be camped out for the next few days!:surfweb:popcorn::

What was the room discount like? We just booked with a FD PIN, but if they do another room discount and FD for Visa, I will definitely have to re-book.
