So who is going to join the Cricut Circle

This was the main reason I did not join this clique. I am trying to find a forum that does not promote the-- I am better than you-- mentality like the cricut boards do and now I find it here too. What a disappointment!!! I graduated high school in the 60's and find myself back in the same boat again with all the bragging and I have more and it is not available to you attitude!!! Cricut is promoting a division within it's customer base and those that are falling for this are the losers in my opinion!!!!

This will be my one and only post on this subject.

hmmmm. I probably shouldn't comment.... but I'm going to.

Sorry you feel this way Grandma Jan. I don't appreciate being called a loser.... but I can certainally understand that some people think that I'm dumb for throwing my $$ into a club, when I could add it to my kids college fund or my retirement instead. I joined Cricut Circle...(and D23 which is also 'exclusive')... not to be better than anyone else, but rather because Scrapping (and Disney) are my passions. I am usually willing to give many things like CC a try, though that doesn't mean I'll renew it.

I don't think any of the girls here were bragging about joining/ not joining... just conversing about the pros and cons of membership and why it is/isn't for them. I have found that by reading what the other ladies in this forum think, I have been able to look at situations in different lights.

OK... I'm done now.

Well said!

Wow - REALLY???

This is *the* most inclusive group of people I know. I knew nothing about scrapping when I started on these boards, didn't own a cricut or anything and I was welcomed in with OPEN arms. No one here is bragging. If anything we support each other in each other's choices.

Just wow

The "clique" on this thread have spent all day sending me their thoughts and prayers, emails and calling me on the phone because of a sudden tragic death in my family (funny I didn't see you over there)....Guess I'm happy that I am hanging out with such losers.

I was going to post when I first saw it. But then I remembered -

I don't feed trolls.

And that troll is not worth the points I would have gotten with the retort I had typed. More than once.

My friend Jackie joined it. She always buys the newest stuff, and she has the bucks, so why not. The BEST part is - if she learns anything new or gets anything new, she's always generous to share it with her friends. (if we can ever catch up with her between the 5 kids, the job, her school, etc.)

Mean people suck.

I second that thought........

I got the email but so much was going on that I did not even look at it. I'd love to go back and look at it. But with my trip coming up I probably can't afford it right now. I can enjoy it will all of your nice ladies telling me what's what! I'm actually thrilled for those of you that did get it!! Congrats to you!!

Well, now I'm annoyed. I got the email my first day of vacation. The internet at my parents is okay for reading email, but is too slow to spend too much time reading threads to research; especially considering how messed up the Cricut messageboards are. So I figured, I would see what got posted after I got home and then make a decision. So I started looking today, now that I've dug myself out from vacation, and the period to sign up is already closed! It closed the day after I got home, so even if I was "on it," I would have only had one day.

And now I have a very bad taste in my mouth that I am considered less of a valued customer because I went on vacation. I'm sure when it is reopened, either they won't be offering 800 points, or the price will have been increased. Or when program terms change, charter members are sometimes "grandfathered in" and get to keep the old terms.

But I am still a little curious, what in the Q&A made the people sign up think it was worth it? Cartridges seem a little high, especially if you end up not liking 1 or 2 of the 4. Bracelet is useless to me. Prices through ProvoCraft are usually higher than other online deals, so I'm not sure if exclusive discounts will make it worthwhile.

I'd like to know that, too.

For me, it was a combination of things. I'm a HUGE sucker for anything "Limited Edition!" I know I have been able to find cartridges that have been limited edition before, but they said that they would not be available to anyone else, ever...So, even if I hate French Manor, I may LOVE the other 3.

I'm hoping that they will have really great rewards for Circle members too. Not that past experience has made me think they will, but I am hopeful.

The bonus points were a deciding factor for me. With 1360 extra points, I should be able to get some good Limited Edition rewards, right?

Ah, let's face it, I'm a collector ;)

I decided against joining due to limited funds, but those extra points were what had my mind reeling. I could do a lot with those.

So registration is open again. Still get the 800 reward points, so it's more like 5 cartridges for the $275. I saw that the Circle members than went to the event at CHA got free Imagines, free cart, t-shirt... But I'm guessing that type of ROI will be rare. So circle members that didn't get to CHA has it been worth it?

I do wonder if there will be events in Utah, @ ProvoCraft I could theoretically go, but I wouldn't want to count on it.

I would have to say no. I'm *this* close to filing a dispute with my credit card company to get my money back (and returning the "welcome kit").

They have not followed through on much of anything. July 1st was supposed to be the opening day for the rewards, the message board, the $25 weekly certificates, etc., etc., etc. The message board opened on July 16th. They won't get the new rewards site/items up until after CHA, there hasn't been any mention yet of the $25 certificates.

They were not ready to launch and yet they did it anyway. Made a million dollars and then never followed through. They knew that the Martha Stewart launch was happening, they knew that the 4th of July was coming (one of their excuses for not launching the new message board), they knew that CHA was coming.

They bit off way more than they can chew and I basically paid $275 to have a faster message board. I haven't opened French Manor yet, not sure what I'm going to do with it. I want it in prime condition so I can return it if that's what I decide to do.

I'm not thrilled that everything promised hasn't happened yet, but I'm still happy that I joined. I didn't think I'd like the French Manor cart, but I've used it and I have plans for other things to use it on as well and I'm excited about getting the other carts even though I don't know what they are. I've also used the 10% discount at Cricut.com. I really didn't think I'd do that either since their prices are high, but I used it on a Green Wednesday special and the discount comes off that already special price and it had free shipping so I was very happy. The rewards and drawings and all that will come about and it'll be exciting when they do.

The event they had at CHA sounds like great fun and wonderful for those circlets close enough to go. I'm hoping they'll have something like that close enough to me to go to, but they did say they were going to be traveling all over, so my fingers are crossed!

I guess it depends on what you are expecting out of it as to whether it's worth it to join or not. I'm happy at the moment! If I get nothing else out of this, I will have the 4 promised carts, extra points to get another cart, a discount at Cricut.com, new items to use my rewards points on, and maybe some give-a-ways. To me, that covers what I paid for it and everything else that happens will be the icing on the cake!!!!

That is why I never jump on the first bandwagon with Provo Craft. It sounds bad, but they are nortorious for releasing things either before they are ready or before the item itself has been properly debugged. I would have thought that all the backlash with the Gypsy release would have taught them a lesson, but apparently not. My SIL used to be one of their in-store demonstraters. She said the training and then the follow-up afterward was horriblely disorganized.

Sorry you are not getting what you paid for...that sucks! I would certainly dispute if nothing changes.

My feelings are so so for the membership. I did use my 10% off yesterday and got a Green Wednesday special that they offered with 100 extra points plus my extra points for spending money on the site. So I finally got another benefit out of it besides the cartridge, messageboard, newsletter. I did sell my French Manor on ebay, so it payed for the first 3 months. I heard they had MS cart giveaways on the circle mb, but I never received any emails of the such. I get my emails after the fact.

I am waiting for the rewards section and will particpate in the drawings when they start. I am not sure if I will sign up again. All depends how or if they get things rolling and improved and also what the other 3 carts are and if they will be more my style.

So I see the 2nd quarterly cartridge is Shall We Dance. It does seem odd that they would make such a specific cartridge an exclusive. I think I am glad, I never joined. I do like French Manor, but this one would be absolutely useless to me. I kind of imagined the exclusive carts would be more "general purpose" carts, so they would be useful, and therefore satisfying to more members. I can see how if you weren't in the Circle, and have been patiently waiting for a dance cart, this also has to be upsetting. It's like PC is trying to "force" Circle membership, in a bad way. Not, "It's so cool, I have to be in it," but, "Darn it, that's the only way I'm ever going to get ___."

Did they finally release more images? I saw the "sneak peek" a couple weeks ago, and wasn't all that thrilled. I mean, I have a kid who is in her 8th year of dance, but I would really prefer more general cartridges.
