So who has made an offer on resale since the announcement?

you can add-on at a different resort directly for as low as 25 pts (cash) or 50 pts (financed).

you cannot mix-and-match pts when you call to book at 11 months, tho. if you've got 1000 SSR pts and 25 BLT pts, you can only use the BLT contract to book BLT at 11 months out while the SSR points are sidelined until the 7 month window opens. the SSR pts are only good for booking SSR at 11 months no matter which other resorts you own.

Gotcha....I'm thinking for sanity purposes it is easier to keep the same use year???
I do like all my points in 1 place but Standard points during F&W BW is enticing:goodvibes
Thanks
Kerri

sorry to hijack....on another note....If my UY is April...and I do add on....will I get 2010 points....I would have in December....don't know if now that it IS jan 2011 I could still get them.
Thanks
Kerri

Okay - dumb question -

If I make an offer - and it's accepted - I am assuming a deposit is needed right away? But then final payment due at closing? It's probably in the materials I was sent... but those are at home - and I'm at lunch at work!

I was wondering the same thing, even though my UY is June. popcorn::

the april 2010 use year ends in march 2011, so as long as DVC still has pts for your resort and UY month, you would get 2010 pts and be able to bank them into 2011 (even though it's technically past your banking window).

BTW, you would not be able to buy a new UY month directly from DVC without buying a completely new contract (usually 160 pts).

that's how TTS works, i think.

yep, you'd get 2010 pts so long as you add-on before the end of may (so long as DVC still has pts in your resort and UY month.)

We have been looking for a few weeks now - even before we realized that changes might be coming.
So just last week we found one we really thought would work for us - and I made a verbal offer to the agent a few minutes ago to avoid any hassle of 12 different paper offers - so hopefully by the end of the day we will be signing paperwork on a contract!
We almost bought a similar contract almost two years ago - but decided to add on at BLT instead (due to the free cruise incentive!) - and I'm glad we didn't move forward with the other contract - this one is $10 cheaper per point - and has more available points - BUT the only thing that stinks is that it's not the same use year as our other points. Oh well - it's not going to effect us very much anyway due to the time of year we will be using this one.

So - YES - we have made an offer!

I wouldn't want a new UY....too complicated:rolleyes1
Thinking about BWV....would like guaranteed standard points....almost...;)

Nice:cool1:.....which resort???

Just wondering....I see you own at a few. Do you always use your 11 month window?
Thanks

We saw a contract we liked and called to inquire about it. It was still available and we made an offer. A little later, the agent called back to tell us she had just learned that the owner had stripped the points from the contract. She went on to caution us that these sellers had already entered into agreements with two other buyers and then had backed out of the sales at the last minute. We rescinded our offer. It seemed silly to send in our deposit for a stripped contract and wait a month with the strong possibility the sale would never go through.

My offer was not accepted (even though it was a really good one). The seller decided they didn't want to sell afterall.

Sorry your offer was not accepted Figment but keep looking. As more owners find out about the new rules, they may decide to try to sell points now.

I have a feeling this just turned into a seller's market. For the next couple of months anyway.

Given the volume of contracts out there, I don't know that I would start RAISING asking prices quite yet. But it could very well do a good job of clearing out reseller inventory that has been sitting out there for weeks or months.

Fewer contracts on the market post-3/20 could help stave off any decline in values.

I didn't think I would ... but this morning's email had a listing that I'd been waiting for (resort/UY). I sent an "I'll take it!" email ... but it may very likely already be gone. We'll see how it goes ...
NoGo. "Sale Pending" before my email was received.

Sounds good to me!! Who wants my 160 points at SSR for $90/pt???:goodvibes

I would still buy resale down the road....have you seen the amount of points to use what they are cutting out....Still think DVC might end up at those locations anyway and they are planning on building more in other places. Otherwise come on resale market frenzy....the deals are going fast!!!

Congratulations! Sounds like a lot of work (and stress) but glad it worked out in the end. Which resort?

I decided to put an offer in and I'm waiting to hear whether or not if it was accepted.

We were looking for a 100 pt. contract at SSR. But ended up with a 125 pt. one for an excellent deal--$60 a point.

Keep on looking! We made offers through three different resalers before we ended up with this one, and each contract was better than the next! I'm sure there is something perfect out there for you too! pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:

Tried again this morning on receipt of TTS email. Found two small contracts for my target resort/UY. This time I phoned immediately ... and am now waiting on the paperwork! :woohoo:

We haven't because our HHI resale contract was taking so long. Now that that's settled, I am in the market for some more points.
