So, who else is doing a lot of baking?

If anyone has a recipe for Starbucks pumpkin cream cheese muffin that they have tried and tested please share. I've been to starbuck 4 times for those muffins and each time they have been sold out:( I want some so bad-lol! Thanks

i have used this recipe before (minus the frosting). i eat GF so cake is one of the last thing's i have not tried from scratch. i need to get some more flour to get baking muffins again, lately i have been making banana pancakes which make mornings bearable ;). i want to make some sort of homemade snack bar in the next two weeks as the store bought ones are getting pricey. i also just bought GF pizza crust mix that can be used to make cinnamon rolls. i will see how it goes adding yeast into the baking mixture.

last week i made chicken rice soup and the week before chicken cacciatore with lentils that was kinda soupy. love hearty meals like that when the weather dips.
 

I have just been on such a baking kick lately. I partly blame Pinterest, LOL! It has definitely inspired me to try new things that I would never have tried to make before.
Recently I have made homemade crackers, granola bars, baguettes (I usually stick to rolls, biscuits and quick breads ~ real bread has always seemed so intimidating, but it's actually kind of fun).
My family is loving it, because I try to steer clear of junk food at the grocery store, so they are getting some extra treats. ;)
They really loved the granola bars (they were far better than any I have ever bought, and nothing in them that I can't identify!).
If you have tried anything new (or have a tried and true recipe), please share!

I've been making bread ever since I found this lady who taught a bread class. Her bread recipe is so easy, it's ridiculous, compared to other ones I tried. Her website for wheat bread is here: http://www.yummybreadkneads.blogspot.com/2010/01/whole-wheat-bread.html
I substitute king arthurs 100% whole grain flour instead of using fresh ground wheat since I don't have any way of getting fresh ground wheat yet.
I've also found that this bread makes a great base for all kinds of stuff. I've made pepperoni rolls, cinnamon rolls, jalapeno cheese bread and buns with it just by changing what I add to it.

Other than that, I love trying new baking recipes on things! Mostly been cookies and bread this past week, but definitely enjoy baking!
