so...where ya staying?

Maybe someone can start a list from this thread so people can easily look and see who is staying at the same resort. So if people want to get together in the AM for bus rides or taxi rides or whatever??

-Tracy

You know what my boss says when ever I come up with an idea like that Tracy... ;)

Thanks for putting this list together Kate. Can you add me at the Pop for Friday night Jan 8. I got the confirmation from my charity that they were able to get me a room for that night. I may be able to make it to a WISH meet if its at Pop this year.

Just bumping this up to the top now that we are only a week away.

We will be staying at the Poly Jan 8-15. CANNOT WAIT!!

I just added another night to my Pop stay - now we will be there starting Thursday Jan 8 - I am so excited in a week we will be on our way.

We're at All-Star Sports, arriving on Friday and checking out on Sunday. We'll back back to V&A for a celebratory dinner on Monday.

I'm a little bit nervous; I don't have a place reserved yet. I only last week decided to run because I was offered a bib for the half marathon. I'm trained up well enough (cross my fingers), so I'm not overly concerned about finishing.

I'm just not knowing what to do about accommodations! I am an annual passholder, but i've called every day for a week and the only places open for the weekend are the really really high end concierge or suite level deluxe resorts, at about $3,000 for 3 nights.

I am also a AAA member, and I saw that I could get the All Star Music at a decent rate, but the last time we stayed there, our room was way on the back end and the walk to the bus stop was awful!

I'll be driving down from Birmingham, AL, so off property is not off the table, and may give me a little more flexibility on getting to and from the half.

Any suggestions?

::::::EDITED::::::
Wow, I just checked, and I can get the Boardwalk Inn for $198 a night, staying 1/07 - 1/10. I am REALLY tempted to do jump on this because I've always wanted to stay at the BW anyway!

we're at BLT 6th-11th

It's almost here, and I can hardly wait.:cool1:

You have all the options with a car so it is up to you. Not sure how long you will be there but you know you want to stay on property. Not a bad price for the Boardwalk.

I like your comment about staying at the All Stars and complaining about the walk. And this right after you said you were trained for the half :) I understand, just thought it funny. Kind of like the people that wait for a parking spot close to the entrance to the health club.

If you can afford it I'd go for Boardwalk. I too have always wanted to stay there and it seems a great price. I'd switch but it's still over twice the price as POP so I think I'll stay where I am.

see you in a week.

MJonesMBA2001 Jump on that price! Disney deals never seem to stay around long. Is that an AP rate? They are still runnning a special on rates for general public during that time--they also had Saratoga Springs at $177. If you decide to stay offsite, I have stayed at the Marriott Village properties on Vineland with good luck (I got a really good rate there)

Heehee!! I hear you about the walk comment. I'm saying that more from a park guest perspective - that of a dad with a then three year old. We were literally in the building that was furthest away from the main building, and it took a LONG time for us to get to the bus at the beginning and end of a day, and for mid-day naps. And for pool trips, I ended up carrying her while my wife carried all the stuff.

It's not so much that i mind the walk, it's just that, as a park goer, it's a drag to waste that much time just getting to and from the bus, not to mention the time waiting for the bus.

This leads me to another logistical question for you all.

Are most of you using the Disney transportation to and from the race? Even if you're staying on property, I'm thinking that you could drive yourself and not have to wait around forever in the cold and possibly rain. I think the weather was like it'll be this year when I ran the full in 2004, and it was no fun at all catching that early bus from CBR, then waiting and waiting and waiting just to get in the corral.

I'm going to wait a day or two to book my room on the AP site, just to see what may pop up. No pun intended, but for the money, I really like Pop Century, and it seems like a LOT of you are staying there.

Late to this thread...I'm staying at Bonnet Creek 1/7-1/11.

Is TnT putting folks up at the Bonnet Creek now? When I did it in 2004, they put us at the CBR, among other places on property.

Edited to add: I booked the POP. The rate on that was $69 a night, so, for about the cost of one night's stay at the ones I was looking at, I could get the POP from 1/07 - 1/10. We'll probably go down to WDW as a family during Spring Break, and we'll check out a different resort then. For this trip, I'll keep it to the cost savings at the POP since it's just me, and the focus is the race with squeezing in any park time I can.

My TnT chapter in at CSR along with another friend down in Miami.

Nope...we have some Wyndham points, so we stay at Bonnet Creek whenever we go down to Disney. My TnT chapter would have put me up in CBR, but my dad and his wife are coming to Disney to cheer me on, so the three of us are staying at Bonnet Creek.
