I'm a little bit nervous; I don't have a place reserved yet. I only last week decided to run because I was offered a bib for the half marathon. I'm trained up well enough (cross my fingers), so I'm not overly concerned about finishing.
I'm just not knowing what to do about accommodations! I am an annual passholder, but i've called every day for a week and the only places open for the weekend are the really really high end concierge or suite level deluxe resorts, at about $3,000 for 3 nights.
I am also a AAA member, and I saw that I could get the All Star Music at a decent rate, but the last time we stayed there, our room was way on the back end and the walk to the bus stop was awful!
I'll be driving down from Birmingham, AL, so off property is not off the table, and may give me a little more flexibility on getting to and from the half.
Any suggestions?

Wow, I just checked, and I can get the Boardwalk Inn for $198 a night, staying 1/07 - 1/10. I am REALLY tempted to do jump on this because I've always wanted to stay at the BW anyway!
You have all the options with a car so it is up to you. Not sure how long you will be there but you know you want to stay on property. Not a bad price for the Boardwalk.
I like your comment about staying at the All Stars and complaining about the walk. And this right after you said you were trained for the halfI understand, just thought it funny. Kind of like the people that wait for a parking spot close to the entrance to the health club.
If you can afford it I'd go for Boardwalk. I too have always wanted to stay there and it seems a great price. I'd switch but it's still over twice the price as POP so I think I'll stay where I am.
see you in a week.

Late to this thread...I'm staying at Bonnet Creek 1/7-1/11.
Is TnT putting folks up at the Bonnet Creek now? When I did it in 2004, they put us at the CBR, among other places on property.
Edited to add: I booked the POP. The rate on that was $69 a night, so, for about the cost of one night's stay at the ones I was looking at, I could get the POP from 1/07 - 1/10. We'll probably go down to WDW as a family during Spring Break, and we'll check out a different resort then. For this trip, I'll keep it to the cost savings at the POP since it's just me, and the focus is the race with squeezing in any park time I can.
